Wow, quite a flurry of answers huh? Ive never tried Muscle Milk myself, is it a powder mix? I can back up the recommendation for Optimum Nutrition, Ive used it for the last year… its great quality whey at a nice price (I get the 5lb jug for $20). Someone mentioned a fruit flavored protein… ON makes a "fruit punch" flavor of whey that can be mixed with water, although my experience with whey/water mixes has typically been less than spectacular. 😛

Blech, ditto!
Protein mix in that Optimum stuff?

I do not believe it is necessary to pay allot of money for expensive designer protein. Check the protein for the number of serving per package, as many claim to provide higher amount of protein but only because you have to use more of the product. I am sure I will get emails from protein manufactures but I do not think one protein is any better than another. Make sure you follow the simple role of ensuring that your body is getting a minimum 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Good Luck

I agree with this. I use supplements because protein isn't always readily available to me, and also eating a lot of natural protein can really weigh me down.
I'll keep in mind to check the servings. I didn't do that with this stuff…

A glucose only sweetener is slightly more efficient than any other.
Hmmm, Muscle Milk, there a growth story in there somewhere…?
About fructose:
Fructose is a hexose monosaccharide, meaning that it has only one carbon ring containing six carbon atoms. Monosaccharides include the simplest naturally-produced sugars, and includes glucose (hexose) and galactose. To say that fructose is more complex than glucose is misleading; they have the same chemical formula (C6H12O6), just different molecular structures. Now, fructose requires a glucose rider to be effectively absorbed, which would make it an ideal low-sugar sweetener as long as it isn't paired with glucose, but other than that, a good idea would just be to eat 3 servings of fruit for something sweet. As always, everything in moderation.

I have since switched to Beverly International and I must say that I am impressed. This company has been around since the 1960s and I believe there is a reason for that. Their blend is great IMO, they cost a little more but I think its worth it 🙂

However it seems to be a little more fattening than the other brands.

I really care about the price, amount of protien and the taste. Muscle Milk does the trick
If i were to switch off becuase I want to tone up (summer), I take Xrated.
Xrated has 18 per scoop which is more than muscle milk (16g per scoop).
Calories 92
Total fat 1g
Calories from fat <10g
Saturated fat <1gThese portions are for one scoop so they need to be doubled if you are to compare them to Muscle Milk.
WARNING: Xrated isn't very tasty -
