Oh dude, for cying out loud it was just a joke.  Fett is always like that, don't take everything so seriously.  Of course if you've got autism well then not much you can do about that, but anyway it's just a joke and the article is fine.

    The_Collector:
Mine was just a joke as well – its why I ued the grinning emoticon after joking with Fett about the comic randomness of what he said. I was just concerned that people may have thought I was being arrogant by sticking my nose in and coming the "expert" without it being wanted.  I certainly wasn't reacting badly to Fett's tongue-in-cheek humour – I was playing along with it.

The Muffin Man -I don't watch the Simpsons – Homer drives me up the wall, so I didn't know the quote, but I guessed that Fett was joking about being confused by my rambling and rather incoheren tattempts at clarifying one or two slight misunderstandings people on the board were having with the science involved.

First up – the Simpsons rock from seasons 3-7. Anything else is bad, bad, Homer (with a few exceptions), and thus my quote is from those years (I forget which).

It is, indeed, my response whenever someone goes into a lengthy discussion using long words I don't understand, or when someone makes a valid, lucid, and erudite response to something and there is no longer anything to add to said discussion (in that regard, it is a compliment).

Your post was both, and thus, deserved the aforementioned quote. The truth is, I was funny as hell and you all know it. And, I'm better than science will ever be.

Thanks for the complement, Fett – I hope I'll read a few more in future if I behave myself! ;D

Thanks for the information.  I appreciate your review point as I am not a biologist and admit that much of the report goes over my head.  But you might be interested in knowing that clinical trials for a drug designated as MYO-029 (I think) has complete Phase II trails on muscular dystrophy patients and the report is anticipated to out in early 2007.  Phase II trials require treating 100 to 300 patients to determine the effectiveness of the drug.  While I agree with you that there are likely concerns with taking any drug that radically alters the bodies chemical systems, I would bet that there are men and women that would love to get their hands on such a drug if it came commercially available.
