I like to go in order, and thus, this one shouldn't be posted just yet. But it was closer to ready than any of the other chapters sitting on the backburner, so I got off my lump and finally put the finishing touches on it. Guess it's ready as it'll ever be.
It's been a long while, and I can barely remember the people who I sucked the ideas and brain juices from to write this chap, but they each have my sincere "Thanks". Infact, my "thanks" is in the mail.
Ignore the ticking noise.
Unusually hyper this morn.
Oh yea;Comments and Critism is always welcome and looked forward to, and you might wanna boil some coffee for this long one. And maybe have afew torches and pitchforks ready, 'just in case'.

A Dragonball Absurd Crossing Side Chapter.
—-oooo—
In a chair turned backwards, he sat at her side for most of the morning, watching over her as she slept peacefully. It was yesterday morning when they'd arrived home from another lengthy training excursion, but since she arrived, she had been in a dead sleep.
Idly shifting his glasses, Gohan glanced up at the sound of creaking from the opening bedroom door. The long insect antannaes preceded her as she stepped into the room, her red-rimmed sunglasses reflecting the more light than there was in the pleasantly dim bedroom, neck length, curled red locks hanging out from under her large black hat. A white belt synched around her rather round figure, keeping her official dogi-dress fit around her bulbous waist. The symbol on the front signified this short woman as the East Lord of Worlds, the God of the Eastern Galaxy.
"…I made coffee," the East Kai offered in a low and soft tone. Gohan nodded, and took a cup from the tray that the ahh… big boned martial arts god held. She sighed as she looked over her snoozing young student. With a suggestive gesture, she signaled Gohan to meet her in the hallway.
"What she went through in the past couple of days was very taxing. I decided it would be a good idea to recuperate with her loving family, but she's not even awake to make worth of it."
Her antannaes wriggled atop her head intently… and she shook her head. "And worst of all… By my calculations, she'll be asleep for atleast another 17 hours." Gohan shook his head with a small smile.
"It was worth it, even now. It's great just having her here, even if she's just asleep."
"Awwww," The East Kai cooed with her hands clasped together; Gohan blanched at the 'cute' act as whisply stared up at the ceiling, "Such a romaaaaaantic thing to say!" She singsonged.
Gohan blushed, rubbing the back of his neck in an uneasy manner.
"Daddy!" Pan shouted as she ran toward them, but quieted down as the two grownups put their fingers to their lips in a 'shh' pose,
"Sorry. Somebody's at the door for mom and the Kai lady…!"
Both Gohan and East Kai glanced at eachother in a moment of confusion, before heading toward the front door…

He wore what would be probably the end result of a mating between a business suit and a long robe, the result being a coat that hung down to the ground, blocking view of it's legs and feet. A long bright, two-tailed blue ribbon wrapped around the right arm of the suit. The ribbon had an appreciable effect of bringing out the purple darkness of the coat.
His expression was… expressionless, two dark black eyes with small red pupils, half-lidded as if tired or bored.
Another interesting fact was that the stranger had four arms, two in the place one would expect them on a human, and two just beneath the primary. His hairless head was an smooth aqua blue, two stripes running vertically down over it's cheeks, up over it's eyes and eyebrows, and clean around to the back of it's head. Where ears should be, were instead two hollow holes; that interesting detail reminded him of Freeza or Majin Buu, but it was as common a trait for aliens as was pointy ears. They were pretty sure the alien was male, standing alittle higher than East Kai's 4-foot+ height, but under Gohan's.
"We don't want any." East Kai said suddenly in finality as she turned around to head into the house.
"Do not want any… what?" the alien asked. East Kai paused.
"…You're not selling Encyclopedias?" she asked. Gohan smacked his forehead.
"Do they LOOK like they would be selling encyclopedias, East Kai?"
"You ever been to Boron?"
"No?"
"Then if you had you would see my point."
"Boron?" The business suited creature asked, "Ahh yes, a partner sponsor with the GaiNai Enterprise. I can see now where you may have gotten that idea." East Kai raised an quizzical eyebrow.
"GaiNai… so you're not here to sell Encyclopedias?"
"No. I am Parpa, Representative Five-Six, here to speak to one Ms East on an invitation to the GaiNai 444 Competition."
—-oooo—-
In the next passing ten minutes, it soon became clear to all, that being Gohan, East Kai, Pan, and the Ox King AKA Gyuu Maou, what was going on as explanations were given to the gathered family. He was a representative of the infamous GaiNai competitions, following through on a scheduled invitation by one 'Mr South', or as he's known to only a very select few, the South Lord of Worlds.
"Of all days," East Kai said offhandedly as she looked on at the stiff sheet handed to her that explained the particulars.
"We are sorry if we are late with your "Qualifying Attempt"; we had some hindering complications with our last entry," the short alien answered. "Out of curiosity; are you related to this "Mr South" person?"
"Not by blood if you mean that; we just have the same job you could say. Is something wrong?"
The alien representative shook his head, "Just curious. Shall we get on to the test?"
East Kai, though it could not be seen behind her sunglasses, along with those gathered, blinked twice.
"Huh?"
"Wait," Gohan stepped forward, "What do you mean by 'test'?"
"We are one of the many representatives who visit those who sign up or are invited to compete. Mr South and his student made a very good showing in their test the day they signed up, so we took his invitations into strong consideration. But all must take a test to judge whether the contender and coach qualify for the opening rounds."
East Kai raised an eyebrow. "Contender and coach? This is all beginning to sound rather complicated."
The alien shook his head, "The preparations are mainly for security; keeping a tournament of this caliber in check is not exactly easy." East Kai and Gohan looked between eachother for a moment with coinciding thoughts. But Gohan also had something else on his mind.
"Well… okay, I suppose you have a point. But what is the test?"
"For Videl, we have selected 'Velocity Encounter'. Simply, she is to reach the finish line.."
"But, Videl just had a very tough training session the other day ago," East Kai said, tapping her pointer fingers together nervously "And she will need to sleep for the entire day; I'm sure if you reschedule for tomorrow, she'll be up and rea–"
"I have more than nine hundred thousand potential contestants left to rank in," the alien cut them off, "By the next 158 days of your earth calendar. And so, anyone one who misses their appointment, does not get a second chance." and with that, the short alien turned, preparing for departure.
"In short, you miss this, you're screwed." the tourney representative finished.
"Good day."
"Hey wait! Waitwaitwait!!" The East Kai yelled as she scampered after the alien, "Let's not be so hasty! I'll go see if she's awake!"
This halted the leave of the representative as the single only female martial arts god meanwhile rushed back to the house, but wound up bumping into a wall. A breathing wall that happened to be married to the student of East Kai, and particularly concerned for her well being. The light of the sun eerily reflected off his glasses, blocking view of his eyes. Gohan could look scary when he wanted to.
"What are you talking about??" Gohan asked, notably miffed. "You said she would be sleep for 17 more hours!"
"No no, you heard me WRONG my young man," East Kai 'cheerfully' gritted through clenched teeth with a false smile for the GaiNai competition rep, "I said I would get her several more FLOWERS!"
The two argued all the way back into the house.
—-oooo—-
"She can't go out; like you said, she needs her REST," Gohan argued. "You can't risk her health for a competition!"
"It's only sleep, not illness," The East Kai argued back, "She will be fine once she's awake."
"Something's wrong when you have to sleep for near twenty-four hours straight East Kai! Besides you're beginning to treat her like a mule!" East Kai flinched in shock.
"I am NOT! I happen to know EXACTLY what her limits and strengths are! And she'll be fine for something as simple as a race once she's on her–!"
Both husband and mentor halted their argument as the door they stood infront of opened wide. They watched as Videl stepped out of the room between them, and from the look of her walk, dragged herself down the hallway. Her eyes were in a dazed, half-lidded stupor, her nightgown wrinkled and hair in that horrible yet adorable state of dishevelment. At first, Gohan and the Kai thought they had awoken her with their loud arguing, but then Gohan realized that she was stumbling in the direction of the bathroom.
"Videl! You're awake! This is great!" The pudgy woman yammered as she trotted up beside her student-in-training. "I know it's not going to be easy, but you ha–ACCCK!" As the yellowish-green skinned woman went to take her pupil gently by the arm, she wound up instead being dragged down the hallway. The female god shouted an "Ouch!" as the half asleep Videl unknowingly and repeatedly, banged the woman's head into the wall before yanking 'whatever that 265 pound (you did NOT hear it here) thing stuck to her wrist' into the bathroom with her and shutting the door.
A sweatdrop ran down Gohan's cheek.
—-oooo—-
It wasn't too hard getting Videl fully awake, or atleast enough to be aware of her surroundings, but the real job was repeatedly explaining the current situation before Videl's groggy mind finally jump-started itself enough to start taking in information rather than letting it go unhindered out the other ear. But even then she was still only running with less than half a tank. She truthfully did need those remaining 17 hours East Kai calculated to get herself up and running at full capacity, but this was a desperate situation. She could already hear the laughter and ridicule of her fellow Kais as she would have to tell them they could not make the tourney because her student… overslept.
'NO WAY IN HFIL– err, HELL!' she amended to herself. Who says the gods are not prone to being petty? For some, that's just the tip of the iceberg, along with a means of killing time…
About 5 minutes later, she stood fully dressed in the front yard (the quick change of clothing being thanks to the East Kai), wearing one of East Kai's specially tempered attire. Videl was never one for flashy clothing, especially when she was serious. East Kai took this into account when she created her training attire. Her top consisted of what looked to be a single piece pink toga, styled remotely similar to a dogi, and stopped at mid thigh, a belt synched around her waist to keep it snug and tight. Underneath was a body length black spandex leotard that covered her from neck to elbow to mid-ankle. The East Kai's sign was patched over the left breast, and she wore her favorite hightops, which were also tempered by the Kai's supernatural talent.
"She looks… bigger," Gohan mumbled to himself. Indeed, Videl had certainly changed during her absence, and the clothes with a silent testament to that. She always had a slim but fit physique, and always kept herself in shape. Now she was beyond that. Her muscles gave her even more curves, the spandex exemplifying the thicker sinew her legs gained during her training. Her arms were far from bad either, her sleeveless, slumped arms showing off biceps that stood forth like lemons atop her arms.
Gohan's eyes however were stuck around her torso and upper body. A pair of perky breasts was pushing her shirt out alittle further than he last remembered, making the top tighter, and her waist was slimmer now, the hips flaring a tad more. She had a great figure before. Now, it was amazing. Powerful but also still attractive.
Still half-dead, Videl lifted those arms to her face and attempted slapping herself on the cheeks once more in attempt to fully awaken herself and realize that…
"H-….Hey… who am I racing…..?"
The representative brought it's gloved, three-fingered hand up to it's mouth, a high-pitched whistle coming out, but only for a split second.
"Galgas?"
It was silent for the next few moments, until…
"Look! A star!" Pan and Ox King both cried out at the same time suddenly, pointing into the sky, forcing everyone to look. Indeed, there was a white star twinkling far above. Which is odd, since it was almost the middle of the day.
*WHOOOOSH!!!*
That star suddenly landed on their front lawn, the wind from its sudden approach tossing most everyone about like leaves. Gohan, Pan, and East Kai all craned their necks up…. and up…. and up, to look at the new arrival.
It's back was turned to them, and four smooth prongs attached to each of where it's lower legs should be as it hovered gently just half a dozen of inches off the ground. It was shaped in a, more or less, humanoid manner (with exception of the multiple shiny metallic tendrils wrapped around each arm, hiding it's true hands), and gave off the impression of it being machine, but something prickled the back of Gohan and East Kai's senses. Distinct life energy pulsed off the creation, but of a signature that Gohan had ever felt before, and even gave the millennia's old East Kai's brain a jog for answers. Separately, they mentally agreed that what they felt, was as complicated to explain as what they saw before them. Gohan raised an eyebrow in contemplation, adjusting his glasses…
'I keep thinking machine, yet I feel a sort of life energy coming from it; a great amount of life energy at that. But it's stable, as calm as a lake… and the 'metal'? I think I see… is moving… it's like watching a person breathe, the idle functions of life processing through one's body.'
He groaned, peeling his eyes away from the giant figure…
'I think staring at this complicated form too long is going to give me a seizure.'
East Kai whistled.
"Biiiiiiiiig fella." Indeed, it was tall enough to use their house as a footstool… if it had feet.
Meanwhile, Videl… had fallen asleep on her feet again.
"VIDEL! WAKE UP!!!" the Eastern Kai yelled. Her shout carried beyond even the distant Satan City limits. While everybody but the representative and the giant were grasping their ears in shock and pain, this was only enough to groggily rouse the blackhaired, blue eyed girl out of her slumber. A worried Gohan approached his wobbly wife.
"Videl, maybe you shouldn't…" Videl smiled at him drowsily, and warmly.
"Don't worry Gohan, I can do this, no…." for the first time, she glanced up at her very huge, very tall, and very intimidating competition.
"……………………Sweat."
"Show 'em what you got mommy!" Pan shouted from atop great Grandpa Gyuu Maou's Gohan's shoulders. Pan's support helped in ways an caffeine-packed expresso never would. Videl turned and gave her little daughter a cheerful thumbs-up.
The mailbox winked at her.
"Um, Videl? …We're over here," East Kai called out to her. The direction of Videl's gesture was off by 24 degrees to her left, which she hastily corrected in embarrassment. Pan giggled.
As happy as Pan was, Gohan's face was forever scrunched into a worried frown.
"She needs to be back in bed. She's obviously not rested enough for this…"
"Oh quiet already," East Kai answered, "You worry too much. As long as Videl is focused on her task, she'll have all the strength she needs to rank in. Anyway, I wouldn't dare put her into a position where she would be in danger."
"That's EXACTLY the problem," Gohan replied, "Her weariness is too much; she's NOT focused."
Those words stabbed themselves into the back of the Kai's brain, smothered with an ounce of heavy dread. Looking at Videl with an examining eye, she could see what Gohan saw even better than he could with her otherworldly senses. It nearly made her bite her tongue.
"…She HAS to do this, Gohan."
Despite the pep talks given earlier and the buckets of water splashed onto her head, her eyes still held a dose of daze and weakness, her stance rocky and shifting. Her breaths indicated not a level of focused meditation, but simply that of someone very much in need of rest. And East Kai knew that earlier, she should have been able to focus in on Pan's shouts with a pinpoint accuracy, like she'd taught her. She was just.
Not.
Ready.
Urgently leaving Gohan, Ox King, and Pan coughing in a cloud of dust, the East Kai zipped over to her pupil.
"Videl! Videl!!"
"Uh, huh? Oh, what is," she paused to let out another biiiiiig yawn that she could not stifle, that made East Kai's worry jump another notch, "What is it, Master Kai?"
"Come on! Wake up! This is very important!"
"I know, I know," she answered while rubbing her bloodshot eyes, "But I, I just can't seem to get it together no matter how hard I try…"
"You can't get it together? You haven't even TRIED to get it together! You have to focus, just like I taught you! You want to get into the competition right? I'm betting all the other Kai students have succeeded in joining, even your friend, Chichi…"
Something changed. Videl's weary expression melted away almost instantly and she stood straight. Her stance became solid, her relaxed muscles suddenly became tight and pumped, the spandex covering her arms stretching as she violently clenched her fists. The Kai could feel her chi take a sudden jump. East Kai gave a sigh of relief at this full 180 as Videl meanwhile tightened her gloves.
"Alright. I'm ready."
"Excellent," the alien Parpa said, "Let us begin then. The rules are; first out the end of the tunnel is the winner. You may use anything at your disposal and ability to hinder your opponent. It does not matter of how much damage you inflict on your opponent; you can only win by passing through the light of the other side. And if you desire at any time to forfeit, say the word. Are we clear?"
"Errr,–"
"Crystal." Videl answered over the East Kai, lolling her head around, issuing afew un-ladylike 'pops'. The representative nodded.
"Good," Parpa commented, "Then we are ready to start." Immediately, Videl found herself engulfed in a mixture of various lights which streamed across her body back and forth for a number of seconds, their origin being from a white metallic, green-lensed stick device held by the representative. Gohan and East Kai guessed it was some type of…scanner?
"Woo, interesting. We expect great things of you, Mrs. Videl. Do your best."
A panel then slipped out of the device, alien figures and shapes flashing across the green opaque screen.
"Data collected; now configuring." He said, more odd figures and shapes flashing back and forth, a model of Videl's frame rotating on the screen.
From inside it's pocket, the alien then pulled out what looked to be loooooong tubular object that SHOULDN'T have been able to fit into his pocket, that wound up being longer than it's giant friend was tall. He sat this pole up, and it unraveled horizontally like a movie screen before the giant alien and Videl.
A door.
Within the giant door was what looked to be a great tunnel that dwarfed even the size of the giant alien opponent, the stiffly shaped lights on the walls lining deep into the darkness, casting off a bright, yet rusty orange color.
"Contestants standby for the signal."
Videl lowered herself and set her feet against the ground, ready for a swift takeoff. Her giant opponent however was much different in his starting stance, his form making minor shifts, subtly molding its design.
It took off in a manner that would shame a bullet.
There was no signal.
Videl was left sucking in a hurricane of dust, and the group was in a state of bewilderment and anger.
"HEY! THAT'S CHEAT–!"
"Go." The alien said in its usual monotone manner, cutting her off. Teetering between the need to give the shifty representative a BIG chunk of her mind, or save as much face as possible and beat the cheating giant, the brain fell on the choice of the latter. In a sudden blast of angry chi, she bolted into the portal tunnel with a similar hurricane in her wake.
—-oooo—-
The tunnel weaved and twisted not only left and right, but up, down, and diagonally as well, each section seeming to be miles long, tens of miles, and some even a hundred miles long. Videl, enveloped in a blue blasting aura, streaked through the tunnel as fast as she could muster. The soft glowing lights on the walls and floor melted and morphed together as she flew through the byways. For a long time, she was alone with only herself and thoughts, which were mostly focused on the angry question about the morality of this competition. But then she saw it, like barely speck in the far distance, traveling at equally high speeds. Her outrage simmered and hope renewed itself, and she dug deep, and pushed further, faster. Her skill with the Bukujutsu, "Sky Dance" had improved exponentially.
She could tell she was catching as the speck grew gradually, coming nearer and nearer, but from that speck, other specks separated and grew, coming nearer as well, faster than the main speck, intentionally closing the distance between them and herself. Something hot whizzed past her left ear and brushed past her shoulder, the first of many as her vision was lit up with sparkles of bright bolts of energy.
—-oooo—-
"WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THIS?!!" Gohan and the East Kai angrily bellowed in the face Parpa, so vocally that the representative was made to tilt backwards from the force of their shouting.
"Excuse me?" The representative asked calmly. As soon as Videl and the giant shot off into the tunnel, the 'door' became more of a viewscreen, allowing them to watch everything that takes place inside from Videl's point of view, and the giant's. Pan was stoked; it was like a screen of a videogame. She was much more interested with watching her mother blaze the tunnels than the concern over the cheating.
At the moment, Pan and Ox King watched intently as her mother was being overwhelmed by a what looked to be a hail of lasers and electric bolts from a quartet of flying, -the best they could make out,- amoebae machines.
"What else are we talking about?!" Gohan said, "First that giant gets a free headstart, and now he's attacking Videl with abunch of drones! How is this a fair race??"
"I don't know where near YOU come from," East Kai growled, forcefully pushing Gohan aside to get in the representative's face, "But nowhere in all the Four Galaxies would this be called 'FAIR'!"
"But it is." The alien said simply, ignoring the sound of grinding that was either a cluster of rocks grinding together, or the gnashing of Gohan and East Lord of World's teeth, "This is a Velocity Encounter race."
Gohan's eyes looked off to the side in a moment of thought…
"Velocity Encounter….. You mean somesort of Battle Race."
"What a cute way to pretty up things." the vein thumping on East Kai's brow was unable to be seen only because of the shadow cast by the rim of her dress hat.
"She CAN fight back in any way she chooses."
The Saiyan and the female Kai both gave the alien a glare for the ages, but if he was affected, they couldn't tell.
"Go mommy GO! Go mommy GO!!!" Pan cheered, oblivious to the primitive politics taking place with the three. All heads turned back to the enormous viewscreen….
—-oooo—-
'No way! This CAN'T stop me! I HAVE to win this!!' Videl mentally screamed to herself. Though she put up a strong defense, managing to avoid or protect herself with the chi techniques taught to her by the wise female Kai (and even some her husband Gohan thankfully contributed to), but she was rapidly loosing ground with her true opponent.
But it couldn't be helped; she had yet to find a hole in the fierce and coordinated attack of these weird… things, to make any offense. But there's a time for finesse, and a time for brute force.
Videl dropped the constant defensive maneuvering, crossing her arms over her chest. This would have to be a time for the latter.
With an echoing shout, the amoebae machines were either blown into the walls or shredded into bits and pieces by the shockwave of the powerful 'Ki-ah!' that exploded from her. Never having stopped her forward momentum and her way now cleared, she bolted off after her elusive opponent. But it was far from being that easy. Not too far in the distance, she could see more amoebae machines coming her way at full speed. Worst yet she'd lost sight of her giant opponent yet, meaning it was FAR ahead…
'I don't know how long this tunnel runs, but I gotta go faster!' She thought to herself determinably, tightly clenching her fists, her aura responding with an even greater glow than before, lithe muscles tight with the might she'd gained from a heavy and rigorous six months of super special training from the Eastern God.
She wove agilely through the waves of fire exploding her way, converging on the machines as they equally converged on her. They tried the same pattern of attack on her again, but to no avail as this time a faster Videl lunged into the first approaching machine, each of them twice the size of a bus, and punched her fingers deep into the hard shell of her strange attackers.
She overpowered it's own gravitational prerogative to spin it around like a windmill, and hurtle it like a rocket into the other approaching oddly-shaped machines before they had a chance to react. Already traveling at a number of hundreds of thousands of miles an hour, the added momentum of her toss drove the machine through two of its normally swift comrades like a meteor. With a heated battlecry, the final remaining machine was shattered to pieces under the thunderous blow of her descending knee crashing down from above.
And still more came.
Then, as if things were bad enough…
—-oooo—-
It took all of Gohan's willpower not to curse aloud infront of his daughter. It's been an emotional roller coaster since the word "Go". Out of the all the emotions; anger, fear, outrage, fear, excitement, joy, and most of all, FEAR, the only true, constant emotion that stuck with him was "hope".
Keeping up a blinding high level of speed through the tunnel, she crushed each wave of oncoming, assaulting machines, but as if that weren't enough, compartments opened in the walls, revealing more weaponry that was obviously solely focused on his wife. But despite her disadvantages… she persevered.
It was terribly irksome that he could not properly sense her chi within this warped space the two raced through, but he felt it earlier, just moments before the race. Though her early awakening left had at first left her weak and weary, her strength was far and above that which would be considered even simply above "exceptional" by anyone outside of the Son/Brief family of influence. It was a clear indication of the power she managed to acquire through the mysterious training of the East Kai(the East Kai had not told him a thing about her regimen). What truly made him take notice however was when the female Kai told Videl whatever she did to get her to full awaken.
Her chi surged forth like an incoming tide as soon as they'd finished talking, the violent uprising coming to a sudden stop like an elevator reaching top floor as she clenched her fists in a determined gesture. Such a show of control and ability was extremely tough, especially for someone who'd only been in training for half a year now. Or was it another reason altogether, which he did not know yet…?
He wished right now that he was in that tunnel with her… but truth was she did not need any help, what with the display she was carrying on now on the screen.
He couldn't keep down the grin that was surfacing on his face at the way his wife was going hog wild on the attacking amoebae-drones, punching and kicking her way through each, all while weaving and twirling through the gunning assaults from the walls.
But now was a time to look at the bigger picture; everything she was doing now was exactly what they wanted her to do; Slow Videl down and widen the gap between her and the rapidly distancing opponent. And he was sure Videl knew this; probably better than he did. She needed a new plan of action. That new plan came into action now, and Gohan cringed at the simple, brutishness of it…
—-oooo—-
The kick she whipped forth sliced out a gash five times thicker and 4 times as long across the whole of the drone's body, severing it completely in two before she plowed through the remains. A bad move, as she found herself thus pinned by a slew of new drones, sending her instantly into a pattern of evasive maneuvers.
'This is slowing me down! I can't catch up at this rate, infact I'm losing more ground by the moment! And there's no end to these things!'
That's it, NOW I'M TICKED!'
With little regards to the odds or the result of her actions, fueled by a rising determination, Videl dropped her defense and became a bolt, careening through anything in her way. Machine after machine was blown apart as she crashed through them with complete reckless abandon, exceeding twice her own previous limit of speed through sheer might.
—-oooo—-
It was like watching a sentient comet in action. This was enough to make the female Eastern God smile, if not for the negatives that were making her frown. In all between the two emotions, the resulting face was that of expressionless, deep thought, which served well as she contemplated the situation.
Since the race started, Videl has been quite decisively behind the leader, and the leader had some rather interesting abilities in its repertoire to use. And then there were the gun traps in the wall.
"Dirty tricks", summed it all up for her.
'Why can't they simply race FAIR? Because she would kick his butt across that tunnel, that's why!'
But she knew that was not necessarily true. Considering the amount of speed the strange, giant alien machination was showing, and she couldn't be sure if it was actually using its full powers.
But on to the good parts. She could see Videl drawing strength from her training, fueling everything she was now doing, and empowering her to complete the task at hand.
Now East Kai's expression broke into a grin. Videl probably didn't even realize she was rapidly growing stronger as she pursued her opponent, now crushing any minor opposition like a steamroller until she finally, caught up to the giant.
'Yes! Go Videl! Show them the ultimate techniques of the East Lord of Worlds…!!'
January 23, 2006 at 7:42 pm #21121Vollar-TileParticipant—-oooo—-
A wolf fighting a tank. A fly fighting a dog. Other, much better thought analogies of man versus giant. This was it. But all in all, she wasn't doing too bad for herself, though she once again found her main actions to be defensive.
"Well, atleast there doesn't seem to be anymore gun turrets…"
A volley of barreling fire spewed from its large tendrils, bathing entire sections of the tunnel with explosive red fire.
'Then again, this is entirely worst.' she mentally amended.
"Hi-YAAH!!" Videl exploded back with her own attack, a blast of bright chi flowing from her outstretched hand to rocket at the face of the metallic giant. The blast was eaten through by one of the volleys, tearing through her attack like pin through a bubble to continue on for their destined target. Videl managed to dodge this volley too, spiraling around and through the holes of the assault, but she was still getting nowehere fast, stuck behind the alien goliath's southern flank. The length and flexibility of its tendrils meant that it didn't need to turn around at all to bombard her. And the impeccable aim meant that it must've had eyes in the back of its head.
'I just can't get a break today!' she thought annoyed. On the otherhand, she didn't expect any less, but this was the last thing she expected to wind up in after using the bathroom this morning.
The tendrils of the creature's arms melded together into a quartet of large cannons, another pair morphing into place atop its shoulder. Things continued to get worst. Videl's eyes went wide and she bit down her lip as six points of intense light shined into her eyes…
*FHHHH-WWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOMMM!!*
The walls, the ceiling, the floor; there was not an inch of the tunnel extending behind the giant that was left untouched. The four walls that made the tunnel peeled, sheared, and ripped apart under the undeniable influence of the mighty beams of raw power that stampeded their way thousands of miles down the corridor, ripping into fragments, exploding into less than particles.
It was a good thing she wasn't there to feel that. It only took moments for the giant to figure that it did not strike his target, and an extra moment later to locate the growing concentration of energy coming directly from his eastern flank.
"Kame….! HAME…!!"
Inner energy quickly collected from her body and super compressed into a small ball within her palms her hands; she was going to put one hell of a cramp in this GoBot's side, which was… rapidly nearing….
"Wha–?!" the word was stuck in her throat as the giant mechanized alien slammed itself into her, her attack lost as she was ground into the side of the tunnel, dozens of feet into the stone and metal wall.
The gash ran for miles.
—-oooo—-
"Stop the race!" Gohan yelled, stamping up the small representative. The alien in question only continued to stare on at the large screen. By now the giant mechanization was off streaking down the tunnel, far in the lead, while the screen's view focused in around the rubble that'd fallen to the floor of the tunnel. Videl was in there somewhere. Gohan grabbed the representative by his collar, bringing it face to face, eliciting a minor 'urk!' from the alien.
"I said; STOP THE RACE!!"
"If I stop the race now, this will be considered a forfeit," it finally answered with it's practiced, monotone voice.
"It won't matter if she's DIES! Or if she's already…"
"…Dead?" The representative asked. Gohan froze.
"Well, that is always a possibility."
Gohan clenched his teeth. If Gohan's mind somehow wasn't made up yet, it was now.
"Take her– AHH!"
East Kai fingers were tightly pinched around his lobe; she was practically hanging from his ear like an earring.
"Now Gohan, don't be hasty," The Kai said with an uneasy look.
"Who's side are you on?!" He yelled back at her.
"She's still alive."
"Good. Then I'll stop–"
"Gohan. Taking her out of this race could be the worst thing you could do to her."
Husband and teacher glared into eachother's eyes. The glasses worn between the East Kai and Gohan wore did nothing to hinder the stares being received, nor blunt the ones given in equal return.
"Momma's getting up!" they heard enthusiastically from Pan, causing East Kai and Gohan to gaze back at the screen.
On it, Videl was ever so slowly digging herself back out of a mass of rubble. Gohan was hit with a wave of relief, followed by a brickhouse of worry. She was alive, but looked as if she'd lunged headfirst into a meatgrinder. Gashes, cuts and bruises decorated her body, her clothes torn and ragged and hanging off in thick pieces, and one hand was now gloveless and scarred. She swayed awkwardly to and fro as she tried, with little success, to walk.
"Foremost, the race cannot be called off except by the contestant's command, unless they are unconscious. Also–"
"Then tell her to forfeit already!" Gohan yelled at the representative. He showed no annoyance at being repeatedly interrupted, as if he'd dealt with this many times before.
"If she wished to, she would have already."
Gohan's jaw clenched. This is what he loved, about his wife Videl.
This is what he hated with an unbridled passion, about his wife Videl.
Ten years ago, she hounded "the Great Saiyaman", until she finally caught him, and demanded that he teach her to fly. Without even demonstrated exposure to the concept, no human could learn to tap into their chi so quickly, and she'd never even heard of such a thing until she met him. Yet by the end of the week she was up and flying like a natural.
Not too long after that, she demonstrated this sheer will again, to hundreds of thousands within the arena of the Budokai tournament as she continued to stand again after every beating by the hands of Supopovitch. Her undying, unbreakable spirit. That 'spirit' got her nearly killed that day…
And now he felt that same deja-vu, looking at her struggling to continue to stand, trying to push on, no matter the cost, her pride outweighing common sense. Multiple streams of blood ran down her arms, on her stomach, about her legs, a gash was wide open on her forehead, and she painfully held left arm with her right hand. Gohan cringed at the image, the Ox King tried to cover young Pan's eyes.
The pain becoming overwhelming, she collapsed to her scabbed knees. She stayed like this for many moments, unbelievably still, but ultimately, rose to her feet again. Something was in her hand. Looking down, Videl watched her own hands as they slipped her lost torn glove back onto her right hand. She then stood completely still, her head bowed, staring at the ground, a distant, blank look in her eyes.
She was losing ground.
Gohan, East Kai, Ox King and Pan continue to stare, engrossed. Gohan's teeth were clenched so hard, a vein stood out on his forehead.
Then, as something had burst inside her, Videl screamed to the ceiling.
—-oooo—-
*WHAM.* *WHAM.*
She couldn't take anymore, and her body flew uncontrolled for the outer boundaries of the ring. He 'saved' her, throwing her back in. Because he was not done with her yet.
Ten years ago. The Number One Under The Sun Tournament.
His giant frame stood over her, dominating her, toying with her, pounding her into the concrete of the ring.
*WHAM.* *WHAM.*
Veins stood up all over his body, muscles pulsing sickeningly, like the beats of a heart.
*WHAM.* *WHAM.*
That drooling teeth baring smile he wore, the piercing beady blue eyes. The black 'M' burned on his forehead.
*WHAM.* *WHAM.*
Supopovitch.
—-oooo—-
Weeks before the "Number One Under The Sun" tournament, by the lockers of Orange Star High School.
"I won't give away your identity on two conditions!" she told Son Gohan. "You have to teach me to fly."
"Teach you to fly?"
"Of course; I want to be on even terms when we fight in the upcoming Budokai."
"WHAT?! The Budokai??"
—-oooo—-
Close to 5 months ago.
"When does she arrive?" Videl asked Gohan, trying not to sound too anxious. The sun was just rising as Videl, Gohan, and Ox King stood just outside the house. It was a month since 'she' was taken by an illustrious god for his special otherworldly training. Today would be her first visit back, and the first time they would see the mysterious 'Lord of Worlds' who trained Son Gokou; a very prestigious honor. Gohan checked his watch again.
"I guess they're alittle late."
"A Kai is never late!" a voice came from behind the group. "Especially since your watch is four minutes fast."
The group turned around. Chichi coyly smiled. The little blue man beside her, the great North Kai, gave a V-sign.
"Yo."
"Umm…. hi, everybody…!" Chichi finally said, giving a small bow to the group. Everybody stared at the two. A sweatdrop ran down Chichi and the North Kai's cheeks.
"Is there a… booger on our face?"
King Kai's joke seemed to roust everyone back to their senses, and the group surrounded the two with cheerful chortles and happy 'welcome home' chatter.
"Wow Chichi! My, have you've gotten STRONG!" Ox King, her father, complimented her while lifting her up in a tight bearhug. Laughing uneasily, Chichi wriggled in his grip.
"Y-yea, maybe just alittle," she squeaked out through her laughter while trying to squirm out of his grip.
Her progress was evident; her arms subtly bulging with new mass with her idle movements. She seemed even curvier than last as well. And her bustline…. it was even larger now. And unbelievably… perky. What were those things filled with? Helium?? Chichi wasn't one to use padding, but how do your breasts suddenly start growing again?? Was this somehow part of the results of the training?
"So what did you learn?" Gohan asked.
"Alot," Chichi answered, and then with a sigh, "And it wasn't at all easy."
"And it's still only the first stage," the blue Kai continued for her, "Once this is done, we going to begin your new 43-hour stamina exercise." Chichi's face went pale.
"Kidding! Kidding." There was a sigh of relief from not only Chichi, but from everyone gathered.
"Well, actually no, I'm not."
The silence was awkward and unbearable, but then the reaction the North Kai was hoping for, happened.
They laughed.
Conversation was pleasant as they all journeyed into the house. She smiled softly, realizing just how lucky the woman returning before her was. She begins training herself, and seemed to gain so much so fast! And then a god who trained Gohan's father long ago, snatches her up for his own brand of special training…
At that instant… Videl stopped, watching as everyone went into the house. She now realized what that feeling was, that has been curdling up inside of her, off and on for the past couple of months.
Alone.
—-oooo—-
'I BELONG HERE.'
Videl yelled. Her chi exploded from a luminescent blue to a blazing pure white, shaking the massive corridor. What energy she had left swirled around her. And the limit of her chi grew in pitch with every passing moment, flowing… then roving around her like an agitated hurricane.
A thick aura outlined her strong female frame, whipping her hair about. The energy she didn't have, and shouldn't have, continued to grow. The brightness of the aura grew to a blinding state. Her fists clenched. Each muscle subtly thickened in a heartbeat as she stood straighter, her chest thrust out and lifted with new inner strength, the rips in what clothing she had left spreading wider open, the bloodflow from her many wounds albeit stopping. Still, her injuries continued to scream.
The pain was nothing. The only thing that meant anything now, was to win.
The power peaked, finally topping out. Her aura blasting around her; she had the strength now, to go on.
'I BELONG HERE.'
It was time to show why.
She blasted off faster than she'd ever flown before, and the tunnel trembled with unbridled force…
—-oooo—-
"Look-LooK-LOOK!! LOOOOOK!!" East Kai was almost hysterical as she danced back and forth infront of the assembled crowd.
"GO MOMMA GO!! GO MOMMA GO!!" Ox King chanted along with Pan, who sat atop his head, pumping their fists.
The representative actually looked surprised.
"Impressive. And she's actually making progress despite the rather unusual strategy. But Galgas has a much farther lead. I doubt she can catch up…." It trailed off.
Gohan watched on quietly, his expression unreadable.
Subtly, a grin crept out the side of his mouth.
"Do it Videl."
—-oooo—-
She was approaching fast on its radar… but where? And at more than 6 times her previous top speed… and rising.
240 kilometers… 170… 80…
South… west…. north… west…. south…. the target moved erratically across it's sensors as they tried to pinpoint her. It found that it needed to repeatedly compensate its systems to keep up with her position and building speed, but it was still horribly confused. But its visual sensors indicated no organic body…
The giant metal-organic creature ran a compilation of possibilities of what the answer to this predicament could be, while accelerating it's own speed. The finish line was nearing…
It's invisible target was dead even with him, literally running rings around it from the information given by its mental compass, despite nothing being there.
When a tiny white streak exploded out of the wall from his western flank and crashed into its faceplate area hard enough send its entire body grinding into the east wall, Galgas' systems responded to this simple answer to all its queries with…
//…..Oh.//
Videl instantly dropped low after her haymaker right, circled around onto its left side, and slammed a sidekick into its chin.
The giant crashed into the ceiling.
Right knee.
Left hook.
Flying side kick.
Double fist sledgehammer.
The giant was bouncing off the walls like a superball.
Catching the ricocheting machine giant, Videl plowed it into the tunnel walls, just as she'd been before. The friction against the wall slowed Galgas down to a near stop, and Videl took off through the complicated tunnels in a streak of white speed, while Galgas laid prone in its trench.
Then Galgas got back up and chased her full speed.
It took less than a minute to reach her. Videl was almost shocked when she found she was already being tailed, narrowly avoiding the projectiles and energy weapons fired her way from its tendrils, chest and head compartments, but her defense was causing even more distance to be closed between them.
"HAAA!" Spinning around and doing like she'd been taught, Videl launched a large blast of chi from her outstretched hands. The potent energy soared into its approaching target with an incredible BANG, the resulting explosion expanding until it pressed against the tunnel walls. Galgas kept coming.
It took all she had not to buffered aside when it quickly caught up to her. They were coming to the final stretch, the light at the end of the tunnel not even the size of the tip of a pin needle as they raced towards it.
Videl flew side by side with giant living machine, avoiding assault by the tendrils attempting to slow her down. Grabbing one of those tendrils, Videl managed to hurl the alien giant into one of the walls, but it took her with it, another one of the many large tendrils wrapping around her entire body.
From the floors to the walls to the ceiling, both wound up bouncing everywhere possible in a struggle for dominance.
The light grew bigger and brighter, quickly encompassing any frontal view…
Videl felt a nasty sting like a whip as one of those tendrils lashed her into a wall. Bombardment instantly followed.
It was not enough to stop her.
In seconds she caught back up with her opponent. It swerved back and forth, blocking her path, small compartments opening across Galgas' body, small half-orbs sticking out of it's surface. Rays of laser light fended Videl off, but she twisted and weaved through the hails of fire, maneuverings becoming more and more swift and precise as she comprehended the patterns.
She was side by side with the bionic creature. It tried to grind her into the walls again with its weight; she pushed back.
The light… so close…. closer….
Seeing her opening, Videl lunged forward, and was swatted into yet another wall.
Galgas sped up; a pair of feet missiling into its massive torso sent it barreling across the floors. It was her break.
Videl poured all of her heart forth, reached for that light… and Galgas…
The light "splashed" as the two competitors passed into the 'finishline'.
—-oooo—-
"…Who won…?" Gyuu-Maou asked, out of the otherwise deathly silent group.
East Kai gnawed at her handkerchief.
Gohan continued to stare on wordlessly.
Even Pan was unusually quiet.
"Now that, was a nice race," the representative said barely hiding his actual enthusiasm, "Would you like a personal recording?"
"Pass," Gohan answered a twinge agitatedly before anyone else could. "Where are they now?" The representative idly pulled out an object that looked to be a small shiny mirror.
"Intermission phase. The racers will be coming out ab–"
There was what could only be described as a "FH-WAASH" sound from the otherside of the view screen, prompting everyone to circle around. There on the otherside was the giant, 'standing' at attention for its next order. And…
"Videl!"
"Mom!"
The family gathered around the huffing woman, who was soaked with sweat, steam wafting off her body, and down on one knee. They helped her back to her feet, smothering her with joyous affection.
"You had me worried for a second there," Gohan said with a smile. Videl chuckled alittle uneasily as meanwhile little daughter Pan leapt off of Gyuu-Maou's shoulder and around her neck, laughing and hugging her fiercely. Videl returned the hug to her child.
"Why would you be? Afterall, I'm daughter of the strongest man in the world!" Videl said with a bold gusto, holding her fist in the air. Gohan was taken aback by her words, but her smiling wink could help but cause the both of them to fall into a pit of laughter. Somewhere in Satan City, Mr Satan sneezed.
"My mistake!" Gohan finally replied.
"So then, who won?" East Kai asked the representative.
"First, I want to congratulate Miss Videl on such an excellent race," the representative said, walking graciously over to Videl, "It's spirit like yours that makes the truly best of competitions."
"So she won??" East Kai's spirit rose, hands clasped together in hope, standing on her toes.
"No. The winner is Galgas."
And dropped like a rock.
"No surprise," Videl replied angrily as she marched over to the representative, "Ever heard of FAIR competition?"
"Indeed! You little… little… SHYSTER!" East Kai interjected, steam rising through her hat. "That junk heap used teleportation at the very end of the race! Not to mention when it took off before the starting signal!"
"Contestants are allowed to use all of their abilities–"
"Those guns in the walls were NOT a part of that thing's special ability! YOU… YOU……BAH! Forget it! We don't need to be apart of a competition as crooked as this ANYWAY!!!" The Kai finished as she stomped away in a huff.
"It doesn't matter," Gohan said, hiding own his agitation, holding his wife close, "That was an amazing a run there Videl."
Videl looked up at Gohan, almost confused. Gohan smiled back.
"You were fantastic!" Videl blushed, nuzzling up closer to his chest, which made Gohan blush. Which made Pan laugh, Ox King chortle, and the blushing couple horribly embarrassed.
"Come Videl," East Kai said, practically appearing out of nowhere beside Videl, investigating her injuries. "Those wounds need tending… to…." Gohan felt it as she went limp in her arms, and watched as her eyes closed. The gathered family gasped in worry.
"No need for worries, she is fine. The poor girl… she pushed herself so hard….. for this pathetic competition…" It wouldn't be noticed by the others, that tear that peaked from down behind the lemon-green skinned Kai's sunglasses.
The East Kai managed to coerce Gohan into giving her Videl, and she personally carried the tapped out young woman into the house.
Most of the family followed, but as much as he wanted to be beside his wife right now, Gohan was atouch more concerned about the two aliens on his frontlawn. The giant one still stood at attention… and the small alien Parpa, was staring at him through some odd cylindrical object, while using his other arms to mess with what looked like a see-through notepad…
"…So…" he finally asked after nearly a minute a silent, awkward staring, "Is there any particular reason why you're still here?" the representative put away the cylinder.
"Actually no. We'll be on our way now."
—-oooo—-
Inside, Videl was placed back in bed. Her wounds healed by the East Kai, but the only remedy for the exhaustion was some well-needed bed rest. It was pretty silent in the room, despite the four people inside, three of which were standing over her bed, a mixture proudness and regret that she did not win the challenge brewing in their minds. East Kai was meanwhile facing facts…
She could see the three other Kais… looming over her with their cocky sneers… laughing at her….
"I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!" East Kai wailed, a torrent of tears blaring out from behind her sunglasses. flailing her arms in frustration. "THIS CAN'T BE MY FATE!!!"
*ThuD.*
Ox King was going to remind the frantic god of Videl's need for peace and quiet, but her tantrum carried her in the way of the door, just as Gohan was coming inside. The tirade; the wham of the door; the pudgy light-green skinned body hitting the floor facefirst… Videl continued to sleep like a snoring rock. Still, it was decided that it was time to let the young woman enjoy her rest alone.
"I'm sorry East Kai. Are you alright?"
"No, I'm not." she sniffled, "Yes she was cheated, but still can't help but feel that I failed her so pathetically."
"But you didn't," Gohan objected. "I never imagined that Videl could go this far. I thought I had high expectations for the results she would have under your guidance, but what she showed today was really incredible, and in much less than a year's worth of training. I for one, am proud of what she accomplished today."
"Yea! Mom kicked butt today!" Pan cheered. "She should enter the next Budokai!" Ox King nodded in chuckling agreement, clapping his hands. But East Kai wasn't so easily consoled. Still…
"Yes… I suppose you might be right. But I still think there must have been more I could've done for her, to help her improve." She smiled warmly at the memories of the past few months with her hotheaded, polite, iron-willed female student. She inhaled a deep breath, and sighed contentedly.
"Well, in any case, I still owe her the rest of the year, to make her as strong as she can imagine!" she said with finality, pumping her fist in the air. "That silly tournament doesn't matter, I'll still do for Videl what I can!"
The End.
EPILOGUE:
"What is this?"
"He said it was rules and forms. You'll need to read and fill these out."
"I'm still not–"
"She's in."
"What?"
"That GoRight 34 competition."
"That's GaiNai 444 Gohan. And WWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT ? ? ? ?"
East Kai's eager, sunglassed glare of 'whachotalkinbout Gohan??' was met by Son Gohan's own michievous shit-eatin' grin.
"But she lost to those cheaters!!!"
"The representative told me that's to be expected, though he had her thinking for a moment that she could actually win. But he said she scored really well; with passion, determination, judgment, strategy, and potential. The tests are not made to be passed. It's made purposely lopsided to bring out the competitor's best. He also said something about that kind of stuff selling the most videos. They have high expectations for Videl." he finished proudly.
The atmosphere in the livingroom was ecstatic, with Ox King and Pan both celebrating, dancing around the room. So what if afew coffee tables got accidentally smashed in the process. East Kai was beaming one moment, and then,
"That jerk let me believe that she was out of the competition!"
"He said he never had the chance to tell us, and didn't want to interfere with an emotional moment." East Kai rose an eyebrow in confusion…
"So…. basically…"
"He played us for suckers there." Gohan chuckled alittle uneasily, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "Also mentioned something about a blooper reel."
East Kai paled, but then lightened up. A large sweatdrop ran down the side of her cheek.
"Well, I'm not worried about that." Gohan just stared at her.
"…..Right."
"Anyway! I've got to prepare Videl's new training schedule! Oh m~~~y, how surprised is she going to be when she wakes up and finds out about this!!" The Kai said, spinning down the halls on her tiptoes, dancing with glee. Meanwhile, plans of celebration began to brew between Gohan and family for when Videl finally awoke.
'It worked!' the female God giddily thought to herself, 'My special training has taken hold! And that was only a fraction of her what she can do. Once she's fully rested…'
But unseen by the others, when she was out of sight, a shadow then passed over the female Kai's face, her features highlighted by the darkness. Her sunglasses gleamed from a passionate fire emanating from behind, her teeth glinting from her maniacal smile.
"North, South, West. The game's not over yet. Ohhhhhhh, it's not over by a LONG shot!"
—-oooo—-
"Ah-CHOO!"
Somewhere in another galaxy, high atop a secluded mountain, North Kai sneezed. Again.
"Are you alright?" Chichi asked during the curling of the barbell in her hands. The weights on both ends began relatively normal, but grew ridiculously huger on either ends the further it went out. At where she and the Kai were situated, it would look like the very peak of the mountain of growing inverted horns, if anyone could actually see it.
"Maybe you're coming down with a cold…"
"No, I'm fine," North Lord of Worlds answered her while blowing his nose. Chichi wasn't so sure… but he knew what they were about. Two other particular "people", in two separate galaxies, also sneezed at the same time he had.
As Chichi went back to her exercise, he smirked, and then turned away, his arms folded behind his back as he stared up into the endless skies of the universe, "No worries. You continue on with your day's training…."
He knew exactly what those sneezes were about. The Kai grinned evily as he daydreamed about the future of his fellow godly 'friends' after the competition.
It was only a matter of time, and they were counting the days. Gazpacho wasn't the only thing best served cold.
"Wait a minute…. I hate Gazpacho."

Got Videl confused with Chichi for a few seconds but it's nice to take a look at that spunky daughter of The World's Strongest Man Hercule!
That the Galactic Directions championship would sell videos is right on. 👿
Also really dug the analysis of xenomorph physicality. 😀
You keep writing and I'll keep reading.

Thank you both for the kind words. ^_^ Xenomorph? In truth I keep hearing that name, but not sure what it is actually (unless it involves Xenogears/saga).

Ever see any of the "Alien" movies? The things that bust outta yer chest and grow into a really scary and really deadly monster, those are Xenomorphs.

Hey!! Give us some time to read Your work!!

Haha! No worry; I wasn't telling people to hurry up and reply.
Especially since my mind control hat finally has new batteries… 👿
Besides, considering my minor lurker tendencies, and my mastery of the late post, I'm the last person to talk. 😀 Thanks for the words; "fun and entertaining" is just what I'm aiming for. For the most part anyway.
