ParticipantI'm lousy at keeping secrets, but but if you click here, you can read a brand new page of Tetsuko #2! The last frame is a nail biter!!!

ParticipantI’m surprised DCM wasn’t the first to break the news of a new page. What have you been up to that you were able to beat him to the punch? 😉

ParticipantActually, DCM WAS the first to break the news but he did it on his own site. He did say "Mum's the word". Oh well…

ParticipantWell, like I said in my update post, I'd intended to wait until I had at least a new page each of Tetsuko, Dyna and Satin to post, but it had been awhile since any additions to the comics, so I decded to put this one up early. I didn't want to make too big a deal of it (since, as you've noticed, Tetsuko herself doesn't appear on this page) so I wanted to take a lower-key approach to it, and that led to the "ssh, it's a secret!" joke.

ParticipantHey man, your the one who writes and illustrates the tetsuko comic aren't ya? I'm really sorry to have to tell you this, but in my experience, your tetsuko character really doesn't look much good in the anime style. It's the face I'm sorry to say. It looks really queer to me.
The fact is that your so good an artist that the anime face on the superbly drawn and richly coloured and shaded body of your character looks completely out of place. For it to work you'll have to draw with less detail. In all the animes and mangas the characters never have that much detail to start with, the characters are pretty simplistically drawn and shaded. Regular mangas aren't even coloured!
I hope this helps. really. I like your other comics though, they're superb.August 23, 2005 at 1:22 am #11819Strickalator
Participant[glow=red,2,300]How can you say tetsuko looks queer?….[/glow]

ParticipantThat's his style.
What would be the point if he copied EXACTLY the way some other artist draws who does an exact anime style???I think it looks perfect. It's unique. His very own take on it which makes it so much more interesting.

ParticipantI concur with Kulli. Even among anime/manga, there's no one definitive style. I mean, characters from Dragonball Z have a different style from those seen on Lupin III, and there's a drastic difference between the art styles of Trigun and Digimon. And this just happens to be DCM's style of manga, a bit of a hybrid between his usual style and manga.

Did I just read that correctly? Is there an individual on the PLANET who has a knock against DC?
Aye Carumba!
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, DC. You very well know that you are THE man!
