My only minor complaint, there seems to be some texture warping along the right side of the bed. It looks like it has been smudged upwards.

Very perceptive. It was smudged upwards… trying to even out the edge of the bedspread, making a complete botch of it, and saying "the hell with it; who's going to notice?" Now I know who… 😆

A most excellent piece, dear David. Tetsuko-chan's expression and pose is fantastic.
The only criticism is that in the second panel, her head looks a little askew and not fitting with the rest of her body, in the fact it appears a little drawfed by her neck. But this simply may be because she is tensing her muscles and her neck is merely flex as the rest of her is.
At any rate, another most excellent piece from a true Maestro of the form.
Kudos to you.

Well, sure his work is awesome, I guess I'm just not used to one style being used in a different way. The classic and perhaps incorrect idea that all women in anime and manga are cute, doesn't really apply here. Sure, Tetsuko is definately sexy, there's no doubt about that at all, but she isn't cute.
Now, on the other hand, if you want an example of someone who has really grasped hold of the anime style, have a look at http://loboleo.tfcentral.com/comic/index.html
Loboleo is an excellent artist and this is a great place to see his work. Of course, his work may be rougher, and it could be said he's not as talented an artist as dcmatthews, but I like it all the same, and his chicks definately have the cuteness factor. Before they change into werewolves that is.

As a matter of fact they are either kawaii (cute) or kakkoi (cool).

After looking at the above link I must sat that IMHO loboleo has yet to grasp the so called "anime style", Adam Warren or Fred Perry are closer. But if you want to see an american doing true "anime style" look no farther than the guys at udon comics (the one ATM publishing the street fighter and darkstalkers comics), they even did some of the artwork for one of capcom latest 2D fighting games.
