Silent One
ParticipantHey all, I know it's been forever and a day since I've posted but rest assured I'm still lurking about somewhere.
I was at a bar last night and noticed a commercial for a new energy drink (I think by SoBe, it was sort of hard to tell exactly what was going on since the noise level in the bar was somewhere around excessive). What caught my eye was the girl working out during the commercial. She had a small weight in one hand and a much larger one in the other with equally mismatched muscular development. The strong arm was very muscular. I haven't seen mention of this commercial elsewhere but if someone else has already brought it up and I missed it I apologize for bringing it up again.

ParticipantI believe…that particular commercial was infact for Gatorade..and the gal in question was a middleage asian lady with a real males arm lifting a huge weight compared to her smaller arm. I remember seeing it a few times at the TGIF Bar myself…hanging out. Love Sammi.

Participantlol I do remember that advert, Sammi! However, I saw it in a print magazine, not on TV. So, if Silent One saw a different commercial and it was on TV… then I guess either the same marketing guru thought it'd be nice or two different people came up with the same idea.
Problem is, I don't remember in which magazine I saw the advert. Maybe Men's Health? It's the only mag I read on a regular basis that would have energy drink advertisements.

Indeed – I'm going to have to send out a Cohort of my Enforcer Knights (drawn from the 40th Super Amazon Legion, of course) to bring you out of the shadows and back into the fold . . . 😉

ParticipantIt's Powerade. There's a simple animation with a gal playing Lebron James and holding her own here.

If you watch NHRA Drag Racing coverage on ESPN2 (in the US of course) you're bound to see it as Powerade sponsors the series.February 26, 2007 at 8:56 pm #47706Silent One
