I wish you luck with that 🙂 If your stuff isn't $200 a pic I'll probably get some of it.

Hopefully Ozzy is beavering away on some killer artwork that we can see via LHArt. I'm hoping he'll make the cut for the November update, otherwise we'll be going at least another month without any new art from him.

This doesn't surprise me, as I often see artwork posted in the gallery section of LHArt that has already been posted by the actual artist here or on DeviantArt. Sure, he could have got permission from each individual copyright holder to repost their artwork, but when Hunter S Creek caught him on one, he admitted to putting up random artwork he receives via email. Well, the answer is pretty simple, if the email sender can't prove he is the copyright holder, then don't accept it. If this goes on, we should really start putting pressure on him to do the right thing. If you make money from someone's time and effort, it's only fair and decent that they get their share.
Actually, that reminds me, I've seen some of your work on LHArt, Solarian. I take it you are aware of this since you are also a member. Did LHArt pay you paid for this, or at least offer you a membership discount?

Guys, take it easy. I've talked with the guy at LHart about this (some color works I did were there too) and he answered me that people mail him the stuff. He doesn't actually "surf the net" for the stuff.
LHArt has being arround for quite some time, and they are serious business. Let's not compare them with some low life Forums that are around there.November 2, 2008 at 10:32 am #70364ReasonParticipantGuys, take it easy. If someone mailed me LH Art's entire set of PDF stories, do you think LH would then be cool with me posting them all on my own membership site and sell them as my own? Just because LH receives a an illustration via email doesn't excuse him from the responsibility of finding out who the copyright holder is and obtaining permission to repost it. It's really not that hard to do, especially when it's signed by the artist. If he can't find out who the artist is, then he shouldn't post it, it's that simple.

Yes, I noticed it. First he offered money, but I choose to get free membership instead.

Let's see, many images from DeviantArt, mainly the 3d renders aren't signed, So anybody can make a claim about who owns them. For what I know, and because it is a big site, he doesn't get 2 or 3 mails, he get's quite a lot, so I'm ure you wouldn't spend most of your days controlling and checking every mail you get. Neither would I. But what is important, and I think in this case Solarian, and maybe other members here too, is that when He found out about Who was the real autor of the stuff, he offered them payment and/or membership to the site, and the recognition of their works. Also, I think there were some works that were removed due to owner's request.
On a second note, I remember back in 93 when I bought my first WPW mag, that there was and ad for a company that selled comic book like stories and all it had was a PO BOx. The company was LHArt, and for what I could tell, it seemed the had being selling stuff for quite some time. The guy is in the business for quite some time, and was a suplier of the stories that we like way before the explotion of the Internet. So, I think he knows how to do the things, with mistrakes too.
