I'm looking to polish my rusty GMing skills, so I figured I'd try recruiting here. Anyone interested in some kind of Amazon RPG? Group or solo, doesn't matter to me. My favorite genres are epic fantasy and superhero, but I'm open to just about anything. If you're interested, post or PM me.
December 31, 2009 at 3:32 pm #88841the fell batParticipantHello there.
What system would you be using?
As a side hobby I work on putting together the best of each system I've encountered, I've got one that seems to work reasonably well but has not been playtested thoroughly. Have you got any takers for yours? If it's epic fantasy I might like to join too.
January 1, 2010 at 3:29 am #88842yaracyrrah80ParticipantI don't care what system; I'd be happy to help you playtest yours. You're the first response I've gotten; if you're up for playing solo we can start something right away, or we can wait for more interest.
January 1, 2010 at 6:32 pm #88843the fell batParticipantLet's wait for a nice healthy number, I've found about 3-4 to be ideal (more and it tends to get cumbersome, and fewer tends to feel like… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmgLOKRl5J0 :p)
I'll get on compiling my system into a usable document, so far it's scribblings on several pieces of paper. Work commitments get in the way… which is why pbems are a nice idea. The theme of this particular one is a bonus. ;D

For about one week now, we try to launch on the ]Freya forum a role playing game in which you'll have to manage the career of a female bodybuilder. The game is called "Projet Amazone". Unfortunately for non french speaking members, it's all in french.
There are no SuperHero or Amazon plans (despite the title of the game), just a game in which you take control of the career of a female bodybuilder. You'll have to manage her training, contest prep and some other stuff.By the way, we are still looking for new players at the moment.
And I guess it would be clearly possible to turn it into a more heroïc fantasy game, you probably just have to change the rules.

I'd be interested in doing some sort of more serious amazon RPG (not a pure fluff/how-many-times-can-I-bed-the-buff-chick game). As an aside- PBeM has the advantage of not needing everyone logged on simultaneously, but it loses a bit of the flavor of tabletop RPGs- have you considered setting up a server via RPTools and, maybe, teamtalk or Skype as well? I'm playing a biweekly Pathfinder game that way and it's working very nicely…
Oh, and if it wasn't clear- I'm interested, especially in a superhero or high fantasy game… and I got lotsa ideas for characters, too…
January 4, 2010 at 11:25 am #88846BlackKusanagiParticipantSounds fun.
January 6, 2010 at 6:05 am #88847yaracyrrah80ParticipantOkay, three's a crowd :-). I see one vote for high fantasy and two no-preferences, so it looks like high fantasy, though I'm happy to include elements of other genres if folks want. Sex will be strictly optional.
I'm not up for a chat-based game at this time, for two reasons: one, my schedule isn't simple enough; two, winging it is my weak suit as a GM, so the slower pace of email is a better fit for me.
Anyone who wants to contribute elements to the setting or story is encouraged to speak up; what you all don't create I will, but I'm lazy and would much rather you do my work for me :-). What would you like to be a part of the game?
January 7, 2010 at 8:37 am #88848AtaskiParticipantHow about something some what dark; such as Fantasy Flight's "Midnight." setting. I've always been a closet fan of the whole Revolution/Evil Empire(or Evil Deity, wahtever) bit.
January 8, 2010 at 5:56 am #88849CowprobeParticipantSounds like a fun way to work those muses. ;D
High fantasy is good times. 70's album art and Frazetta covers. If it could be air brushed on a van so shall it fall to justice!
If you're strapped for inspiration Seventh Sanctum has some fun random generators.
http://www.seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=deity for instance.
I wouldn't mind getting in on this.
