    One of the articles on line about the novel POOL OF RADIANCE said that Dragon Magazine had written, “Five friends meet in the town of Phlan and have to face off against the monsters who have invaded its streets.” Evidently, several characters were combined, because there are actually only three main human characters in the actual novel.

    I read the novel like 20 years ago.
