From the pages of DC Starman™, a group of super being called Power Elite had two female members: the first one, Olivia Hardy, has super-strength, but the most interesting one is Samantha Morgan, capable of altering her mass and appearance to anything from a little girl to a hulking giant…

I've got these issues in my collection… I give DC points for buffitude (more willing than Marvel in most cases) and I don't neccessarily mind fugly hulk women… check the avatar  🙂 ( if guys can mutate into Things and Abominations, then girls can get fugly too ) but this chick was often drawn like a guy with breasts! Rampage came off a lot better in this series. Back then, she could have a boyfriend. Too bad he got offed in the Eclipso saga. Starman and Rampage would have made a good team.

Rampage was "killed" in the novelization of Infinite Crisis. This scene is nowhere to be found in the comic version or the hardcover absolute edition. So she may still 'exist', or perhaps is waiting to be rebooted. Or Superboy Prime "punched" the walls of continuity, making her dissapear. :-

    Maybe we should start a letter campaign… WHO'S WITH ME MEN?… Men…? Men…?

'Cause they're purdy. Actually, they're generally drawn with exaggerated, but still "female" proportions. Often they're rendered with no muscle at all. When they made Rampy Starman's girlfriend, they tried to tone down the muscle, but her look was still too radical for a hero's main squeeze. So they bulked her up again, but made her single. (PAD even suggested that she was lesbian). All in all, the more radically muscular a women is in comics the more likely she will be
    a) Villan. b) Cannon fodder.

I remember being upset when they killed off Starman.  I had a soft spot for old Will Paynton.  Plus it was the only comic that had the Power Elite giantess on a regular basis and Power girl in the early issues.  I always like the Power girl in starman the best.  she was given a real personality and not just a pissed off woman with huge breasts.

Yep, and Starman had so unconventional villains. ;D
