You might have noticed that my posting's been a little sparse this past week? Well, here's why…
UBER-CHICK FLICK "POWER PLAY" NOW IN PRE-PRODUCTION IN HONG KONG
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEKOWLOON, HK SAR (AP) — Hong Kong will soon be in the steel grip of an Amazon revolution as Si Yue Xiao Chou Studios begins production of its next film, Power Play.
Director Bu Shi Zhende has assembled a grand cast to perform in a truly radical breakaway action film about a feminist regime's new world order. This production brings in muscular female actresses from all across Asia and beyond, including comedienne Lydia Sum and Russian sumo wrestler Olestra Kodaklenko.
"This is a true revolution in the making," Zhende said. "More and more, mainland China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, and other countries are attracted to stronger bodied, minded, and spirited women, and have been demanding that. It's wonderful to have all these bodybuilders, athletes, and fitness icons here to take part, and we're ready to show what they're capable of doing."
Producer Wan Ju Yuan said this: "I realize that many film companies aren't taking chances any more, and have stagnated, particularly in America. Hong Kong is regrettably following suit. Also, there is a lot of undiscovered talent that isn't being used because of older perceived tastes. Asia is especially bad here. But we realize times and tastes change, and I'm glad to support the first wave here."
In this new story, a paramilitary group named Big Sister takes over one New Year's Eve, by draining men's physical strength via satellite into the female populace. The majority of the world's women are at least a collossal 1.90 meters tall and 100 kg heavy, while Western Europe has the "Uberbabes," a class that has muscle absorbed from the American men as well as their local counterparts.
"This results in muscular giantesses well over 150 kilos and 2.15 meters. Our CGI guys are obviously going to have a workout on this one," Zhende admitted.
Zhende and Yuan discovered Power Play's story in a chance meeting in a Guangzhou internet coffee shop with James "Jimmy Dimples" Templeton, an American kindergarten English teacher and storywriter. After talking about teaching with Zhende and Yuan, Templeton shared the story which he'd posted to the forum of http://www.amaz0ns.com, a female muscle fansite.
"This is truly a miracle and blessing for me," Templeton said. "I am most pleased to see that a lot of hard work and joy at the same time is finally going to hit the big screen someday. Of course, it's going to be very tough leaving teaching, especially the kids. And I realize that rewriting the story for Hong Kong's location, actors and audience is going to make me especially busy."
He also admitted that he was preparing for rewrites, just in case Sony Television and Gunnar Wetterberg Productions didn't come to terms over use of their game show "Russian Roulette," which features in the original script.
"I also don't look forward to leaving behind the friends online I've made while writing and sharing Power Play," Templeton added. "But the only to get your work to see daylight is go along with it, and follow my dream. I hope my newfound friends, particularly the bunch at http://www.amaz0ns.com understand, and will go to see the show when it hits the screens."
Power Play is slated to be released to Hong Kong and Singapore theatres sometime in spring 2007.

Okay, Jimmy here. This is truly a bittersweet moment for me. I'm very happy about the success, but I realize that I'm going to have to give up a lot. So I won't be around the forum as much. But I'll be off and on the web today, and you can Yahoo! Messenger me at spiritcorsair*PUNCHASPAMMER*-at-yahoo-dot-com. Minus the CAPS letters, asterisks, and with the needed symbols added, of course.
And I'll be in the chatroom at 1 pm Hong Kong time (about midnight Eastern US) or so for one last talk.
Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta start packing.

CONGRATU-F***ING-LATIONS, MAN!
April 1, 2006 at 5:09 am #25496MaxParticipantAmazing heads-up Jimmy!!! I bet you must be very happy. Hope that you receive money for the concept idea.
Please, don’t forget to give some credit (and money) at the original author that create that universe.
Recreating this particular story into the big screen should be a challenge, but if they have special effects like Shaolin Soccer and Kunfu Hastle, everything will be fine
I can wait to see the transfer scene between Jimmy and the contesters. I have wait so long to see something like that and to be finally be able to see it in big screen. Whoa!!
Linking the fiction characters with real ones won’t be an easy task either. I just hope that they are as big and muscular as you picture them in the story.
Female asian muscled beauties playing the roles of Chantelle Johnson and Vicki Andrews will be a bad call if you ask me.
Other actresses should play those roles since Chantelle is African-American while Vicki is Anglo-American.
Oddly enough, Angela Tiffany and Suzzette Termagant could be pictured as asians for their white skin.
Links to the site of the models will useful to see who will be the ones that will represent at your characters. I know that we can’t ask a 100% similarity, but at least we will know what to expect.
Spring 2007 looks so far, but for a movie like that, it will be worthy the wait.

April 1, 2006 at 6:06 am #25498JimmyDimplesParticipantHey, P-bird! Welcome to the forum!
And I'm in total agreement with you. I won't waste this at all. I'm going to work with and enjoy it all I can. 🙂
April 1, 2006 at 6:26 am #25499TC2ParticipantJust remember, the actress should be able to ACT instead of just 'look' the role. Sometimes you'll have to transform a meek little girl into a massive amazon, but please take ACTING over physique when casting is done.
