I assume that it'll be okay for me to keep dumping my work-safe drawings in here, to keep clutter to a minimum.

This was a mental image that came to me as I was at the drawing table, of a just-awakened amazon enjoying her first sip of coffee when something causes her to start.  I'm not sure what it is that caused the reaction, but I had to draw it.  Maybe the coffee was too hot?  Maybe she was listening to her voicemail and just found out that her mother is waiting for her at the airport… last night?  Maybe she just realized that the sugar that she'd poured into her coffee was ground jalapeno?  Your guess is as good as mine.

Hrm, I just realized that I was drawing buff females before I was ever really trying to draw them.  The explanation for that is easy, though.  When I was learning about drawing and getting advice from other artists, nearly all of them suggested photo references for human anatomy.  Some suggested x-rated magazines, but there was no way I was bringing nudie mags home, so I would get fitness and muscle magazines instead.  And the women in those magazines, while still shapely and feminine, had clear muscle development and definition.  The results, well…

You can also see it in some of the comic pages I drew a few years back.  By this time I'd drawn a lot of muscular females (my 'mister E' phase had come and gone by then) but I wasn't particularly trying to draw muscular women for this comic.  But this is about as 'skinny' as I will draw the female figure without making a distinct effort to make them look thin.

I will just post links, as the images are fairly large (800 x 1200).

This is a sketch I had drawn some time ago, when I was experimenting to see how far I could comfortably push anatomical proportions (in this case, arms).  The original sketch was in blue pencil and did not extend downward past her breasts.  So I added in the rest of her torso and re-did much of the muscle, with only her left arm remaining as it originally was.  The right hand is much larger than the left hand, but after a few attempts at it I'd decided to leave it as it was.
