I have nothing at all against Macs.  In fact, my parents and I fell in love with them when we'd first gotten computerized on a famed blue iMac in 1999, and I would've grabbed my own quickly if it weren't for two words:

And, Neon: Thanks for the compliments, but that wasn't "swift work"; I'd already drawn that pic up for a different posting back in February (I forget exactly which topic), so it's already been posted once. (Though come to think it of it, it was swift work when I first drew it. I wanted to get it drawn and posted quickly; I'd have refined and improved it over the intervening time if I'd known I'd have use for it again! 😀 )

It's not so much a "bandwagon" as "truth".

You can't honestly be defending Sony saying that not only is the PS3 priced right at $600 fucking dollars, but it's TOO CHEAP. Kutaragi outright said they could charge over $1000 for just a box and people would buy it(or something to that effect.)

Don't forget the GPX2 and XGP.  Also don't forget that OS X on the Mac is sufficiently thin, and the Intel dual processor core so fast, and the iMac sufficiently cheap, that console gaming may be doomed anyway.  Right now the Mac Mini is useless for gaming because it has a crap graphics card.  But I wouldn't be surprised if that was corrected in 2007, which will mean a high-end, superfast Mac gaming platform for $499.  Sizzle!

The problem with that, nobody ports games to the Mac.  Your options are …. warcraft 3 and games that came out 5 years ago.  I couldn't even find the Mac games section the last time I went to my local EB.

And whoever said that the 360 just had Halo 3 going for it.  Two words: Dead Rising (and its sequels. Multi-player zombie apocalypse? YEEE HAAA!).

You must remember, dear friend, I's was absent from this place in Febuary and missed out on many great works.

Ummmm, maybe you hadn't heard but from here out, no one's going to NEED to port PC games to the Mac anymore, at least not substantively.  That's because Macs now have the same processor architecture and a much thinner OS layer than Windows.  By Christmas 2007, I expect many PC gamers will have switched to Mac.  (The new Microsoft Vista release candidate, btw, looks to be about 10 GB in size and eats memory like nothing you've ever seen.)
