Since a moment I would like to write a story about a really huge muscle woman (or at least try to write it). The story should, if I have the courage to finish it one time, cover her entire life. And why not give a second story about her daughter who would be even bigger then her. Perhaps a story about the daughter of the daughter could be about even a bigger woman and so on.
Any way, I would like to write this story the most realistic possible. Naturally not her muscle size (I’m thinking huge and ultra strong here) but all the rest. One of the questions I’m wondering about such a woman is how the media would react about her? I’m explaining myself.
Take the example of Renee Toney. A few weeks ago her biceps were officially recorded as being over 20 inches. How many men can say that about there biceps? I don’t think many. But I haven’t seen any comments on Renee’s achievement in the mainstream media.
Now if we think about a young woman (or girl) starting bodybuilding and developing rapid muscle growth. Since when would different media take notice of her depending if it’s a local media, a national media, or a media for muscle lover like us?Would it be when she becomes the biggest muscle woman in the world? When she wins the Miss Olympia with a muscle size that would allow her to be classified in the top three of the Mister Olympia? When she asks to enter in the Mister Olympia contest? When she wins that title with a body much bigger then the biggest man? When she beats men in typical strength sports (boxing, football, …)? (In my mind she would start bodybuilding with about 15-16 years and archive those performances between 18 and 25)
Would that moment change if she would start bodybuilding much earlier (when she’s about 12 years old) and reach hugeness when she’s just a teenager (about 15 years old)?
Also how would the perception change if the story would take place in a world where the Olympia title would be for people with the size of actual bodybuilder, but there would also be bodybuilding contests specially created for people much bigger then those we know actually (Men would still be bigger then women until the heroine changes the face of the world)? Many thanks to the users which are willing to take some of their precious time to give me a precise answer!
Also my language isn’t English (but to be accessible to the most people it’s necessary to write the story in English). Therefore I was wondering if there is a forum user that is willing to work with me and check the orthography and grammar?

May 19, 2006 at 5:40 am #28565iceman75ParticipantYou know, I like this idea, although its been done in certain forms before (Michele De Rochiliere by Philogynia for one), but your idea really appeals to me, especially having her start at 12 years old and have her huge at 15, look at all the responses Hardbody has gotten, that girl is 15-16 years old and is huge and everyone loves it! Go for it, I'm sure it will be a well liked story.
May 19, 2006 at 7:54 am #28566ReasonParticipantSome of your ideas also remind me RhinehartD's "Dawn" saga where the focus was on a college age girl with muscular development far beyond her years totally outclassing the other competitors at the Ms Olympia. So, basically I agree you are onto a good thing so here are some thoughts about your questions.
I guess you have to ask yourself, what drives the media. Like most things in this crazy reality of ours it is money, which translates to ratings, newspaper sales or whatever. So basically, if they think people will watch/read etc, they'll report on it. I'm pretty sure most elements in the media would regard Renne Toney's achievement as just a freak getting freakier and therefore not particularly newsworthy. So I guess the next question you have to ask is what angle would you need for a wider audience to become interested in the story.
The youth factor is always a good one and might be enough. I remember media reports about an 8-year old boy bodybuilder a few years ago. I've never seen any about a girl bodybuilder though. If anyone would be a contender it would be Victoria Larvie, who was 13 years old when she competed in the fitness section of the NPC National Championships. It would have been reported in the bodybuilding media, but I'm pretty sure it didn't make it to the mainstream.
To justify a wide media interest I think you would need a further element of contraversy. Women taking on men in a male-dominated field always seems to get headlines so there would definitely be interest by then. For her to get noticed before, you would need something else, like a connection to a celebrity, or getting work as a model, etc. If the muscle growth was sudden then I have a feeling that the story would be about getting help for the girl to reverse this terrible affliction.
You've raised some tricky questions here with no simple answers, but hope this helps with the discussion. Good luck with the story.
May 19, 2006 at 8:41 am #28567Mr.ShhhParticipantSounds like this has the potential to be a great story :-)!
Since it takes time for an athlete to build mass, you may want your character to start bodybuilding as early as possible, particularly if you want her to reach critical mass by 18 or so (though it seems counter-productive to start before puberty).
I agree with Reason – in the real world, it would take an earth shattering event to get the mainstream media to do a major story on bodybuilding. A girl under 18 winning the Miss Olympia might do it, though not likely. A girl competing in the heavyweight class of the Mr. Olympia would probably do it. The same girl not only winning the Mr. O, but totally devestating the competition would definately do it. I'd imagine that would create quite a controversy (how much is too much, can a woman become too much like a man, etc.)
If you were to create a world where there is a competition for bodybuilders way beyond the Olympia level, then the rules change. You could have it so that bodybuilding is a worldwide obsession. Entire cabale stations could be dedicated to bringing the public bodybuilding 24 hours a day. Here, heavyweight competitors would be like celebrities, their every moment captured by paparazi. In this world, a female bodybuilding prodigy would become an instant superstar.
Just my thoughts. Can't wait to read what you come up with
May 19, 2006 at 4:25 pm #28568sybic26ParticipantFirst at all, thanks for those interesting comments.
Your right JeremyWilson, my idea is much like Phiogynia’s Michele De Rochiliere, which is actually one off my favourite stories. Just my project would be much bigger. I’m explaining myself, I really like the idea of letting the muscle woman’s boyfriend tell the story like Phiogynia did and want to use it too. In my case it would be her husband. But instead of just telling one major event I would like to cover their entire life from the meeting to death (the story should therefore cover about 70 years). All the important events should therefore be told. It would be much work, but actually the thing I fear the most is that all the parts lock like the same and are becoming boring. I now, it’s easy to say that your not afraid off all the time it would take to write the story if you haven’t even started. But dreaming is always possible.
Fact is also that writers like Mr.Shhh or RhinehartD and all the others from Diana’s page are source of great inspiration. I’m asking them in advance to forgive me for ideas I might “steal” in their stories. To the age issue. I will take the first one. The woman starts lifting weights as a teenager (somewhere between 14 and 16 years old) and starts to be really really huge when she is 18. I definitely think that stories like those about little Annie Ample are really cool but (the reason I was asking about the age, because if a girl like Annie would exist wouldn’t the entire world take about her) the he story is told by the husband and you all understand that the husband would be a sort off a better version of myself. I would therefore tell a story about a fantasy of my perfect woman and I don’t know how I would tell such a story without involving muscle worshiping and love making. I wouldn’t feel right to write such scenes, involving two kids or even worse a girl and a grown man.
I don’t now yet how much sexuality I should involve so that most people wouldn’t be offended and also to comply with the rule of this forum. Now back to the reason why I’ve asked those questions about the perception off the media on a really big muscular woman. The future husband is a regular man. If most people know about her, many men would be interested to date her and she would be a big star (perhaps not for most people but at least for some people). So the chance that he meet’s her would be small and the chance that he appeals to her even smaller. Therefore I like the idea that when they meet most people don’t now about the existence of this really big young woman. (Actually the future husband even doesn’t know that he is attracted to big muscular woman before he sees her).
Therefore the real question should have been how much muscle an 18 year old girl can develop before people would start taking about her (At that time she never had participated in any contest). To the point Mr.Shhh gave about the existence of really big bodybuilders. The reason way I think it’s cool to include such people in the story is that the muscle challenge would be much more interesting. For example, the girl can already have 30 inch biceps when they meet without being the most muscular human being. And I think it’s much more fun to write about worshiping a 30 inch biceps then a 17 inch biceps. Also a 6 feet tall woman with the biggest muscles in the world defeating two 8 feet tall and 500 pounds muscle hulk is much more fun then one just defeating two huge actual bodybuilders.
An other point about those contests for “muscle monster” is the time. So she can first win the Mister Olympia then the next mister title until she win the contest for the biggest muscle men.
But the general meaning about bodybuilding and specially women’s bodybuilding would be the same in this world. The only difference would be that very few people have the ability to built humongous mass of muscles and the heroine would be one of them.To recapitulate, as long as the heroine is not bigger or at least officially challenging men bodybuilder nobody would car about her. Even if she is the biggest 16 year old kid that ever existed. But if she would for example be the best high school football player and have offers to join college or even NFL teams the world would start taking about her.
Agree?
May 23, 2006 at 9:14 am #28569iceman75ParticipantI absolutely agree with that, I have always loved seeing stories where young girls or women challenge male superiority in any way, but especially on the football field, seeing a young girl, like 15 or 16 years old managing to push huge lineman around, men that weigh 150 pounds more than she does on average, with ease is an incredible idea to me and I would love to see it in more stories. And of course a girl with muscles that could not only challenge, but utterly defeat and devastate men on the Bodybuilding stage is great to me as well. I hope to see you write a story like this as soon as possible!
May 24, 2006 at 7:54 pm #28570sybic26ParticipantI’m sorry if some people are hoping that I would post the first part of my project soon. Fact is that I have some ideas about where I want to go but haven’t started the writing yet. Since it’s a big project, I have thought that it would be better to start with some smaller projects. So I’m actually writing a story about a female muscle police officer. But since my writing in English is so slow (Don’t forget, it’s not my language) it will take, even for that, some time before I can post it here.
Sorry…
May 24, 2006 at 11:12 pm #28571Mr.ShhhParticipantFemale muscle story about a cop? SOLD!
I had an idea recently about a muscle-bound female military operative. The concept began with her captured and chained up behind enemy lines. A bunch of huge, hulking goons are taking turns abusing her bulging body. She manages to escape and single handedly takes out the entire enemy base (I had this image of her strapping two giant m-60's together and going nuts). Gotta' love a woman in uniform!
