I've been having some concerns lately and I was wondering if any other women had had the same problems when they started into a harder workout routine. I've been on my new routine for three weeks and my period came a little late, not bad late, maybe half a week, but the big concern is it's lasted two weeks now whenever it's never been more than seven days at most, 5 on average. I'm calling my gynecologist tomorrow for an appointment, but I was wondering if anyone had such problems before in relation to their workout or should I be REALLY worried?

Hmm… it's going to be hard to get a women only answer because a majority of the folks on here are male.

You'll have to hope Ashlee, Sarah Dunlap, or even Kim Birtch can help you out in this department.

Though I will say although Pimp is male he's got a vast amount of knowledge in this area so he'd come in handy for more advice too even though you're female.

I's do not whether to complemented or not, dear Collector.

    Though, to answer Jeanne's question:

Irregular periods can unfortunately be quite the norm for women starting weight training.
This can be because of hormonal shifts, changes in diet or other matters.
But I's do advise you to see your gynecologist for further advice and to ensure that it is not another matter.
Especially where your former chemotherapy is concerned. Because that too, as you would most certainly know, also has an adverse effect on your cycle.

But these are merely the words of a male where a fellow female's would be wiser.

    Peace

Thanks, Neon. It is still appreciated regardless. lol And yeah, I know the adverse affects well, during that time there was no period at all for many months.

    You are welcome, dear Jeanne.

Though, in regards to this and other coming issues, you may wish to partake in a Liver Detox because of your past Chemotherapy and your currently problems with your Cycle.

Chemotherapy damages the liver in some small degrees and thus you cannot break down or generator hormones.
This not only interrupts your Cycle but can also hamper your progress in your workouts and muscle gains.

I's can tell that you have slight problems with your liver because of the condition of your skin in your photographs and I's do also hazard a guess that your skin is prone to pimples, acne and the form?

If so, then you may wish to look into having a Liver Detox.

This can simply be done by diet or herbal treatment (though the diet is cheaper than the treatment).
There are many good publications on this matter but I's would recommend the book simply called The Liver Clensing Diet (author unrecalled at this point).

Best of luck to you, dear friend.

    Peace

Thanks very much, Neon. I'll keep that in mind and look into it. As to the acne, yeah, I've had that problem for years, even before chemo, really, for which in high school I was on Accutane for about a year, probably the reason I ever had cancer.
