Yeah he's done that posting some photo of some girl's face on other people's art and posting it as his own too. But whatever, I give up, not like I can get through to him, and anyone I tell seems to have this thing about proving me wrong. Oh well.

Rather, I think you're just going about it the completely wrong way. You said you're pretty sure DeviantArt has rules against this sort of thing. Well, did you try contacting them about it? Or if offending artwork is on Yahoo!Groups, you can try contacting Yahoo about it, too – they're pretty quick to shut down groups for stuff like that.
Point is, posting one message to his "general comments" section on his DA page (over a week ago) and then complaining to us is not going to be effective. You seem surprised in this regard.

Hem, could someone explain me what "tracing" is? That would help me a lot, I think in understanding the debate.

Tracing means putting a piece of paper over a drawing and makes a copy of it.

My opinionizzle on this shtuff is that ok 1 the point about tracing being helpful is true allbeit hackie. I think the key thing thats pissing Kulli off is that the guy didn't make an effort to give credit or contact the original artists, which is bs. I've copied myself with my first writing endeavor, it was waaaaaaaaay hacky but I told everyone from mount rushmore to spaghetti junction that good ole Smitty(xmidnightwriterx) wrote what my story was derived from. I'm a better more original writer now but i still credit smitty for my sucess. I consider him my mentor, or proffessor of net based creative writing.

The key difference between me and this guy from my estimation is that he made no effort to credit anyone for his work since he did trace it, or throw a photoshop filter on the original. And the guy has 3 yahoo groups  😮 I think Kullz has a right to be mad.

YES I contacted DA but for some reason they said it wasn't a problem even though they said there was a certain similarity- and even though copying is against their rules.

I never looked at the pictures in question, and never said he wasn't plagiarising, nor that you were wrong. There just seemed to be a consensus in this thread that tracing/copying is somehow the devil's work. I just wanted to clarify that their tools, like any other, for learning how to draw.

Everyone in this thread was saying that if you've been plagiarised, you deserve to be pissed off, and then was checking to with you to make sure you had indeed been plagiarised or if perhaps, you were overreacting by being a bit sensitive about the subject (which would also be understandable).

No one was saying you were wrong, nor trying to prove to you that you were wrong, but instead trying to gauge just why you were so pissed off and trying to help, and some people obviously missed a couple of details from your posts and asked for clarifications.

People aren't trying to prove you wrong, they're trying to be pleasant and helpful.

Obviously you didn't say that you didn't do those things. However, if you don't want to hear repeat suggestions, perhaps you should, oh, I don't know… tell us what you did do, preferably before you start getting suggestions.
I've only been trying to be helpful, and you've only been caustic in response, and I sure as hell know I don't appreciate it.
Finding out that you contacted DA and what their response was is the sort of thing you should have told us in your first post in this thread. It helps us gauge the situation and try to figure out other courses of action. But no, you'd rather get angry because people are offering suggestions, but they happen to be suggestions for things you've already tried, and of course there was no possible way for us to know you already tried them, because you didn't tell us.

To put things in a perspective about the original subject of this thread. One of my's friends also had issue with the theft of art work of a mutural friend of our's and instead of sending an antagonistic e-mail, he sent him one of compliment and the artist in question actually claimed in the reply that all his posts to DA were his original works, when clearly was not the case.
When confronted on this matter, he refused to answer any further e-mails and we have been unable to find him.

DA is also silent on the matter.
Claiming that have no control over what people choose to post in their own accounts, as long as it does not violate rules of pornography or pure indecentcy.

It is hoped this will bring both this matter and this thread to a close.

Why not? The bolded words in my above post are the important ones. I don't appreciate getting bitched at when I'm offering suggestions, and the only reason I'm getting bitched at is because Kulli didn't tell us what she already did, and gets annoyed when she gets suggestions she already tried (but we had no way to know what she already tried, because she didn't tell us).

If she wants help on the matter, then perhaps she should be a little bit more open to people's replies, and actually think about what people say. If she doesn't want help, then perhaps the thread should just be locked down.

I've moderated forums before, and I've seen this *exact same* situation come up before (although not involving DeviantArt). Hell, I've even had content lifted straight off my websites in the past.

Calm yourself. Pretty much everyone made a mistake in this thread; Kulli was hostile, I was lecturing and talking probably about an aspect of the discussion that wasn't needed, you were defensive, etc. Everyone can claim they were 'right', but pretty much everyone seemed insensitive of each other's feelings to a certain extent. Let's leave it that before anyone gets more pissed off than they need to be, okay? 🙂
