1) Acting – 8/10
What is always the key selling point (for me) are the performances in any Awefilms title, no matter what scenario is presented. In this title, some light bondage and S&M play is afoot, definitely aimed at a certain niche within the female bodybuilder fandom. While I have no problem with this theme (as I have written several erotic stories involving this), what perplexes me is why bondage and female bodybuilders always seem to go hand in hand. (I’ll save those ramblings for a later discussion.)

Melissa Dettwiller is the truest rock star of all female bodybuilding domain. She unequivocally shines in this title. Everything I have had the good fortune in seeing her in never leaves me empty or cold. Melissa revels in the glory of the submissive belle, and her off-season bulk truly seemed to glow here. I’m rather new to Lisa Cross, but her realization in this video solidified not only her sensual candor, but also the degree in which she took it to. Its one thing to merely do what you’re asked or paid to do… however it’s an entirely different accomplishment when you FEEL the story, and let its unfettered possibilities enchant you as it did with this couple. Both Lisa and Melissa achieve this feat with intoxicating depth, which for me was delightful compared to the previously ho-hum female/female titles Awefilms has released.

2) Believability – 10/10
Most S& M material I’ve seen is tragically mangled by over the top acting, and silly, uncharacteristic yelling and screaming. Thankfully, this title has none of it except for the few dainty groans Melissa echoes as she understandably resists. It wasn’t distracting at all. Keep in mind this title won’t be for everyone. S& M is usually a “love it or hate it” kind of reputation, but this definitely drew me in hook, line, and sinker. Nothing felt rushed, coerced, or fake in this at all. Melissa’s opposition (at first) was a fantastic touch, thus making Lisa’s influence even more dignified. A nice touch was how Lisa came in to “inspect” Melissa at first, then abandoned her for no reason. That was, for me, the first clue as to this title’s beautiful honesty. I typically champion the more thought provoking, muscle/romantic films, but this somehow made me think… it made me ponder what brought these two together. And then it hit me… videos/films such as this; that enables one to imagine other scenarios WITHIN the story, is a true accomplishment. I wanted to know what brought them together– how they met, and what would happen afterwards… but that’s probably the ever-hopeful romantic in me talking. Hats off to Awefilms on this one. Another “home run” was at the 02:15 mark where Lisa’s stilettos had Melissa’s wrists confined. Nothing grand, romantic, or harmful, but just a nice touch I had never seen in an S& M film before. (Granted, I’m no S& M connoisseur, mind you.) At the 03:41 mark, we’re bestowed the luscious vista of Melissa and Lisa’s relationship flourishing. I won’t spoil the details suffice to say it was an unexpected and most welcomed treat.

My ONLY critique of the “fade to black” (at the 03:37 mark) was not seeing Melissa’s conscious (or subconscious) decision to give in to Lisa’s whims. It came across as a little odd, and could’ve been remedied by a lingering shot on Melissa’s face as she made the inevitable decision to give in… and she wouldn’t have had to say a word… SHOWING her decision in her eyes would have made the moment more profound. But that’s just me. To me, the magnificence of S& M and/or bondage is that split instant where a woman ultimately makes that decision to succumb to the overpowering awe of her lover… its what I have said over and over in these reviews… make us THINK about what is happening too. To me and most women I’ve known throughout my escapades, that one moment where fear and doubt is tossed to the side… where we give in to our lover’s whims and desires. That one magical instant that literally defines an entire relationship. I realize that this is “what it is” and that no video any company can produce will ever be “everything to everybody”. I realize that… but again, if Awefilms wants to get new viewers and draw the attention of the ladies, which I KNOW are out there. (Hint hint.)

3) Production Quality – 6/10
Titles such as this, or “It Happened in Vegas” are so commendable that the overall meaning of it makes me completely forget about where this was shot, or any lack of production quality. I simply didn’t care with this title. But pressed, I would say it’s a six out of ten by reason of handheld camera shots and the use of existing lighting. But this title is so good, a discerning eye wouldn’t even notice.

4) Emphasis on bodybuilder’s physique/muscles – 8/10
Lisa’s body is a sight to behold. She clearly understands how to strut her stuff and leave us wanting more. For the purists like me though, her chest implants leave her sculpted brawn slightly unsymmetrical. Yet given the deeper connotations happening in this video, that fact is easily dwarfed by the prominent needs and cravings these women explore together. Melissa… well, what’s NOT to admire about her? Its obvious she’s an amazing bodybuilder, AND a true performer who GETS it. She lovingly exudes a fiery passion for what she does, and her luscious body emulates that to the highest degree. What also was nice was seeing Melissa’s softer body curves and contours… something I wish Awefilms would do more of… pairing the softer, more buxom vixens with the beefier heavyweights. (Hint hint.) I would have given a nine on this had there been some more worshipping of Lisa’s delectable flesh. Melissa did a nice job of splaying her hands across her ripe abdomen as the fishnet body stocking came off. That did leave me hoping for a little more idolatry here.

Afterthoughts:
The music was superb. Haunting… frightful, yet tinged with a surreal depth that (I felt) captured the devoted struggle these lovers endured. It made the ending much more enjoyable and left me wanting more… something a quality video SHOULD do. “Blond on Blond DOMINATION” did this with the subtlety and grace, making me want to stand in line for a (hopeful) next installment. 95% of all sex happens between the ears. Awefilms is about 80% there with this gem.
