In the TSR novel Pool of Radiance, a young mage named Shal Bal makes a wish to be stronger, and the magic ring she is wearing causes her to grow into an Amazon!  There were no pictures in the novel, which was based on the video game of the same name, and the one picture I do have of Shal is in the TSR Forgotten Realms Heroes' Lorebook.  I tend to disregard this picture, however, as not only is it black and white, but she is depicted as being the spitting image of Anna Nicole Smith, the supermodel.
