Another “legend””? How is she a legend exactly? She’s been competing in the sport a short amount of time, has not won
any major titles (or even placed that high).Iris Kyle — legend; Yaxeni Oriquen (who has been competing at a high level for 30+ years now and has several major titles to show for it) — legend; Shannon Courthney– beautiful young woman with a magnificent physique, but hardly a legend.

She got a metal for just finishing,..
wonder how that compares to winning a bodybuilding show
considering she can keep the lifestyle she clearly enjoys, doesn’t have to go on the crazy diets/crazy prep involved for bodybuilding shows, and can do something she obviously enjoys? I dunno, I figure it stacks up fairly well.
the discussions around this kind of thing always creep me out. it’s her right to not participate in bodybuilding contests if she wishes, and considering the superhuman effort required (for very little reward), I don’t blame her for looking for new opportunities. Admire her, respect her, sure–but I think it’s important to remember that her choices are her own business.

well,..by that logic there should be no threads ever
As fans which is actually short for the word fanatics,we use EVERY forum in the world talking bout other’s business
Since her business as you put it happens to be muscle related,..here WE are
MORE importantly speculating how Spartan racing compares to bodybuilding is being intrusive how?
would it be a lil better if Erin Andrews was asking this question??July 7, 2015 at 3:48 pm #126627cpbell0033944Participant

And she seemed to be very popular and very good! One wonders why, since she seemed to passionate about the sport! Wonder what triggered her to leave?
My guess is: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Much more to be made doing this than FBB. Also unlike FBB – this is not Subjective – it is OBjective meaning the best one will win unlike Contests where one never really knows what the judges want and like.
Not only is the return on investment nearly non-existent for FBBing, but the $$$ cost that you have to put into yourself is high. Besides the covert expense of PEDs, there’s a laundry-list of vitamin/mineral/protein etc supplements you have to use (which add up to a serious bite into the monthly budget) as well in addition to the regular diet, which is strict-managed even in the off-season.
There are the social costs – you have live a regimented, disciplined life that revolves around getting to the gym almost every day, being at the gym for a required duration every time. Then, there is your day job (one must pay the bills if one is going to eat, have a roof over their head etc) . . . this doesn’t leave you with much time for an outside social life.
Then, there are the cumulative negative side effects from PEDs – I don’t think I have to elaborate on that issue. At a certain point, it’s not surprising that anyone would want to drop out from competitive FBBing, if they want to retain/regain a semblance of their femininity.
Absolutely, Alex. Shannon may well have made a very intelligent decision. B)
August 18, 2015 at 8:33 pm #127200luvemhuge5699Participantshe may not compete in bodybuilding anymore but she still works out everyday. you don’t see massive muscle woman in dress up cloths that often and she looks amazing here. i believe if she wore the higher high heels her calves would burst out of her legs. beautiful. https://instagram.com/shacourtneyx
