Sorry if i didn't post them last week, but I was deep in wallpapers and fitted carpets to lay… So, finally, another old "vintage" comic for you: She-Hulk in Marvel Fanfare no. 48. In fact, there are 2 stories in the issue featuring Jennifer. The first one (the more well-known and more graphically interesting) is depicted by Kerry Gammill, and the second by Don Perlin.

Source:  Marvel Comics Marvel Fanfare Vol.1, No. 48, mid-December 1989
Story by Sue Flaxman, art by Don Perlin.

Wow, she got SCHOOLED by "Brawn". On a World War Hulk/Red Hulk INSTA-SCHOOLED type of level, almost. Which makes no sense as the guy went "ouch" when hit by a bullet… and granted speed and surface area are going to make it hard to compare a bullet and a fist but come on… if the guy is smarting from a bullet unless She-Hulk was seriously pulling her punches, then this guy should have been smarting.

The second story was a bit strange… seems like someone just wanted to point out that Jen Walters was still kicking around – even if She-Hulk never let her out.

Jen was seen as a big green joke back then so it doesn't suprise me that she was beet by a beefed up nobody. She is somewhat more respected now not to menchan about twice as strong and a much more skilled fighter.

That's what you get for being a character created to prevent the infringement of copyright… but yeah, I think Dan Slott and PAD have both done a good job of improving her standing and credibility… of course, she's got a pretty respectable hero CV these days. Defenders, Avengers, Fantastic Four… all she needs is some time on the X-men…

No doubt, teaching the class on Gamma 101 at the school for gifted youngesters.  Only problem is no one would be able to focus on their work . . .  😉

Except Colossus… Actually, I'd kind of like to see another Rogue vs. She-Hulk fight… if only to see Rogue get big and green…

But thinking about it, She-Hulk has put her time in on the big name teams… it's just a shame that she's on neither the New nor Mighty Avengers – especially as she had a history with the original Avengers… though, one might argue that's a good reason for her NOT to rejoin an Avengers team… but I guess that she's got so much stuff going on at the moment – Red Hulk, Last Defenders, bounty hunting… she'd struggle fitting it in… not that it stops Wolverine or Spidey from appearing in about 500 places at once.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, she needs to start her own team – for lack of a better name, call it Heroines for Hire (why should the boys have all the fun?)  😉

Hmm, an all girl team, eh?

    Let's see… I'd say as a potential roster I'd put on…

    She-Hulk – obviously.

Geiger – makes sense as she can copy She-Hulk's powers… and she's probably bored of the Initiative and lordy, she isn't going to get anything else.

Rogue – for the reason mentioned above, also a pretty versatile character and all around hottie.

    Ms. Marvel – Heavy hitter.

Stature – She's probably getting bored of being the only powered up girl in the Young Avengers by now.

Jubilee – Yeah, I know she got depowered but as if that ever stopped anyone…

Psylocke – Is she dead? People get better from that all the time in comics…

Me, I'd include Thundra and Valkyrie, too.  ;D

And as the resident bad-girl gone good (well, sort of) Stunner (back from the dead – does have a habit of putting your life into perspective.)
