This is really sad news. She was an amazing woman. 🙁
May she rest in peace.

I'd already read John Romano's article, already knew that the original Gladiators were drug-tested, and, not to sound arrogant, had seen enough photos of her to see that, even if she had used steroids, they couldn't have been very strong. Receeding hairline? Nope. Large nose? Nope. Square jaw? Nope.
Although I agree with Fett in suspecting that she was taken from us by some fprm of cancer, I really feel that any further speculation is inappropriate at this stage. Her family wll make a statement when they feel ready, according to John in his posting over at MDM. Let us let them do so without second-guessing.February 19, 2008 at 10:14 pm #67337David C. MatthewsParticipantHi Lingster, that is a great clip, and very fitting for this thread, she was an awesome lady.
The clip I am speaking on is actually a news clip, and quite different, with rare highlights of her embarking on a new athletic venture(at the time)in Sea Sailing(no to familiar with the sport but it seemed to be like the Americas Cup)
She was a part of the crew, and her role was specifically hauling sails, and pulling rope from above, and she looked pretty buff doing it.
It was indeed the Americas Cup; I forgot what year it was, but she was part of an all-woman crew on the America3.

Here is an old competition gallery of Shelly I found.

You'd have to ck with the other forums I linked to my first post, the Muscular Development one probably would be the best bet since John Romano posts there.
The only other new thing I found was her official obit, which I linked to my first post.

All else that's new is this lovely tribute with a great deal of family photos and cine footage. Very moving indeed. :'(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5AoeSlAd0s&NR=1
P.S. It gives her DOB as 24th August 1967, not 68.
