ParticipantAs someone who's HAD long hair before, it's very impractical and even more of an annoyance when combined with the fitness lifestyle, which is another reason I rarely draw it long.
As a creature with very long hair and still exercises, I's do find it very appealing in females (and some males depending) -especially those involved in a fitness lifestyle.
As the practicalities of hair length: 'tis something that an individual deals with in their own way.
If you feel that you character would have short hair because of their personality and lifestyle, than that is how they should be depicted.
And who are we to question your stylings, for you do them so wonderfully.
Peace

ParticipantEveryone's got their preferences and I realize that an image like this might not get as many comments as some of my other stuff, but I'm okay with that. I just go where the pencil takes me, and each piece knows when it's done, with or without my approval. Still, I consider this piece among the greatest works I've ever done.
Sometimes when we change our direction, it causes us to fade into the background. This might be the case with me, but I'd rather go with art that I like to do instead of pushing myself in directions that I'm not happy with. I mean, after all, I think that's why I started doing FBB art to begin with. What I should probably try and do is find a more specialized board to post this sort of work to in addition to here.

Despite the unrealistic size, I think she looks the most real of anything I've done so far.

ParticipantAmazing picture! She looks great. I must say, I'm enjoying your nude pix (As if that wasn't obvious). I look forward to seeing very many more.
And as far as using long or short hair, I like how I see a bit of variety in your work. I've seen some girls with long hair, some short-haired. Some girls of yours have been busty, a few flat-chested. Some human, some alien. Some realistic, some farfetchedly buff. You show more variety than many other artists here. Might I make a suggestion for a future picture? I think it'd be cool to see two or more muscle-girls of different builds, so one can compare them as they're right next to each other.

Sure, that'd be great. I'd love it. 🙂
I also like the idea of different builds in the same image. I toyed with that in a desktop image (Andrah and Sheeri) well over two years ago.
Aristically, I'm sorta in this weird purgatory where I straddle the line between mainstream and fandom, but haven't excelled in either. I check out tons of FBB art listings and link lists, and I'm rarely if ever mentioned. Same holds true for finding my comic on internet comic listings…it's a pretty rare find. Sometimes I regret trying to walk that thin line, and I don't really know when all is said and done, if my efforts to try and bring society an understanding of the muscular woman will really have been worth the effort.
But hey, you just do what you gotta do, no matter how crazy it seems. :p

ParticipantGreat pic, Dr.O!
Hope to see more of her, or like her! Long hair, short hair, your ladies look terrif! And I agree with you & your other fans on the off-season look; the gals look more relaxed & comfortable with themselves, & they're just BIGGER! Love to see the whole package with legs included… Please keep it up, sir. -
