tonights episode of smallville (may 6th) has jor el giving lois clarks powers as a wedding gift. she then is brainwashed by toyman to kill clark. should be lots of super strength action if you like that sort of thing. ericca durance doesn’t have the muscle we all prefer but she is very good looking with great legs. should be a good show.

legsimplants. should be a good show.Just had to fix that typo. Lana Lang had super powers at the end of her run on Smallville too. And then lets not forget Laura Vandervort as Supergirl. Am I the only one that thinks Laura’s face looks a heck of a lot like what DCM tends to draw like with Satin Steele for example?
Hmm, go back far enough and Teri Hatcher’s Lois Lane also got Superman’s powers temporarily on Lois & Clark. And Teri’s boobs are real. Go back even farther and there is Helen Slater playing Supergirl in the 1984 film. Heck even back to Sarah Douglas playing Ursa (the female minion of General Zod) in the 1978 Superman movie. Remember the arm wrestling scene?
Of course this is more about me being a lifelong fan of the Superman icon than of the female characters that get to exhibit feats of strength. That said, I love all the constant hat tips Smallville makes to characters and lines from the past. This episode, Lois says “I workout”; a reference to the diner scene from the 1978 film. Incidentally while checking imdb to get my facts right, I discovered that Terrance Stamp who is the voice of Zor El in Smallville played General Zod in the 1978 film.

They are a lot to name, but that is one of the things I liked about the show (but I have to say that it was a love-hate thing with smallville for me).

I had a similar experiance, didn’t put the connection together until after had had watched Superman II on the ION channel some months ago. Of course, it was much easier to catch him in the movie Elektra. His voice is so distinct sounding.
Others from Superman productions past that have been featured in Smallvillie cameo guest-star roles have included the late Christopher Reeve (as Dr Virgil Swann), Margot Kidder (as Bridgette Crosby) and Helen Slater (as Lara-El).
As forgettable as Supergirl the movie might be, the same can’t be said for Helen’s role as in the movie “The Legend of Billie Jean”, which is something of a 80s cult-classic film.

Back on topic though, they had Lois with super powers, Supergirl, and Granny Goodness, and only one proper super strength scene (and two pushing people really far and breaking something).
Captain Cold was in it though. So 5/5.
May 7, 2011 at 5:47 pm #100688AlexGKeymasterI was hoping that Big Barda would make an appearance before the end.
And not played by some short slim-chix.

I thought bout ordering that DVD
Is there anything of note on it?May 8, 2011 at 10:30 pm #100718fasolaParticipantThe story is based on Grant Morrison’s mini-series of the same name. It covers most of the events that appear in that series. I liked it a lot, the story is more oriented on the “drama” rather than on the action, but it has some good action secuences.
