Well I am thinking of a story about the struggles of a Filipina muscle woman to be accepted in the society here since most people here dont like the look of muscle to a woman. I can do the characters but the plot and other things makes it difficult to me. At least here is an idea for you.
Once there is a a Filipina athlete named Ligaya (filipino for Joy) her mother is a former track athlete unfortunately died after giving birth to her. Her father is a social studies teacher who likes the fact about feminism and kinda fan of female bodybuilders and athletes. With his father know what he wants to raise her daughter as a female bodybuilder beyond what the Philippine sports can produce inclulcate the values of athleticism and feminism. He pointed out that women should be strong and believe on what they stand on.
So in a young age his father although no knowledge in training exposed her daughter in sports. Enrolling her in gymnastics at four and Yaw-yan (filipino martial arts) at 10 and at the same time giving her weight training based only on research on the books, magazines and internet. Good thing Ligaya got the genetics of her mother. But since her mother is kinda short in height, Ligaya did not grow taller but her physique is changing.
It is not really an abuse to say, but her father teaches her to workout by herself also and just encouraging her. In the gym in their basement Ligaya lifts after her Gymnastics and Yawyan classes from an hour and gradually increases up to her graduation in high school.
At the age of 16 she stands only 4'11 and weight 120lbs but with muscles compared to an olympic track athlete already. She doesnt get any friends since they called her "Amasona" due to her physique. This makes her sad since she doesnt get any friends since they think of her as a freak as well as her father. But his father encourages her much and keeps her motivated through values and of course gving her time to watch strong woman and bodybuilding competitions in the internet and download them.
Eventually she reached college at the University of the Philippines. Taking up Physical education to be a teacher like her father. She was offered athletic scholarship for track and field since she is also a a star in National Games but she refused it because she want to focus on other sport that is bodybuilding.
After her yawyan sessions her workouts get harder and harder 2-3 hours or sometimes 5 hours when no classes eats much of her time as well learning nutrition and posing. At the age of 17 she is at 130lbs of muscles compared to lightweights good thing she is not getting much fat due to her metabolism. And she did not tempted to used steroids believeing she is destined to be a champion that can even beat national male bodybuilders someday.
When not working out, she volunteers for women rescue centers as counselor and physical education trainor in institutions for women and children. The way she dressed herself feels no shy being a female bodybuilder. She always wears halter tops and spandex shorts if not tight workout clothes. Her physique makes her a little uncomfortable riding Light Rail Transit here harder since she is always think as a man because of her muscles. Some dared to harrassed her by chancing her to touch her parts. But they ended up with broken hand or bruises. Good thing she is not arrrested yet because of those happenings.
When she reached 18 her changes really zoomed up. Really her father is her inspiration and mentor. But after her birthday, unfortunately his father died peacefully due to stroke. This hurts her bad but knowing how his father will be happy if she will be the biggest and strongest Filipina bodybuilder someday, this will make him happy.
She now become focused in lifting and training that she quitted yawyan and lift almost 5 hours per day we know the fact that she is too light to be heavy weight but on her short frame makes her more massive and the fact she is ripped and veiny all year round even she does not enter contests yet.
After a year she is now 160lbs of pure muscle. Her quest for women rights takes her to the streets and one event that she posed for audience in a womens day march. This gained her a little media exposure thanks to a Freelance TV reporter. Bayani.
Bayani's interest on Ligaya make her subject of her documentary. It was showed on TV but it became controversial due to her development and make Ligaya in the mode of doubt for people if her physique is natural. But tests from hospitals and even College of Medicine students in the University of the Philippines makes her very clean. She is really born to be a female bodybuilder that Philippines never seen.
Bayani seems to be the new motivator of Ligaya giving her companionship when she needs it like fitting new clothes in the Malls as well as gving her pointers in fashion. They become good friends and eventually after ligaya's graduation to college become partners. To this time Ligaya is now ready to take bodybuilding competitions.
At the age of 21 her miniature height is a contrast of massive muscles at 170lbs . She has no breast but her very thick pecs makes the thing out of it as well as her traps that seems she is like a carabao due to its thickness but her waist remains 24 or 23 inches but filled with 6 pack abs that are so deep and veiny at the same time. Lats that are so wide that reach up to 50 inches and Delts decorated with evenly distributed veins up to her 19 inch biceps and 15 inch forearms. Her Quads are insanely 36 inches and her calves like her arms is 19. Really on natural bodybuilding this is beyond what they can expect.
She is aiming for her first appearance in a national bodybuilding show. Being a fighter for women's rights what will be the destiny of this woman?
Comments and suggestions are welcome. The concept is available for anyone to edit. Thanks

You should truly take the time to transform it into a fully fleshed tale.
I's am sure that it will be most popular.
Kudos unto you for posting your ideas and here is to them gaining a true existence of their own.
Peace

June 25, 2006 at 5:02 pm #32784HolidayParticipantI'd be more excited if she studied kali or escrima. But you've got a good idea there.
BTW. There will be a Universe competition in the Philippines next month. Maybe you can find some more inspiration there.

July 9, 2006 at 1:24 am #32786mikazukiParticipantI support your concept and what you're trying to do. I have some very lovely Filipino friends, so I feel close to your people (even my neighbours are Filipino!).
I don't know much about bodybuilding yet, and still not used to inches and pounds, but here is my attempt at an artwork. I hope it will help inspire you to write your story.
Kindly yours,
