ParticipantGreat Find. Looks like a minizon ;D
Talking about buff sprinter, Canadian 100 m hurdles sprinter Priscilla Lopes-Schliep is probably the biggest one that comes to my mind. She has a very unusual bodytype for a sprinter, actually she doesn't even look like one.
Im in love. XD Was looking at her shoulders, theyre pretty solid. XD

ParticipantPriscilla has always been a find. Involved in the worst and best moment of the Olympics when Lolo Jones fell. Then down the track, they show the others wating for their times and once they were posted, Lopes & Sally McLellan start jumping around like little kids.
Sally's interview after was great too.

ParticipantMariya Abakumova won javelin throw at the IAAF World Athletics Tour Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic, with 66.89 m. It seems to be a good season in women javelin throw since top three, Abakumova; Obergföll and Spotakova, have all won one meeting where they've all been. Although Mariya might still need to more consistant since her performances have varied quite a much.

ParticipantTatyana Lysenko (??????? ???????) 186 cm (6'1") 81 kg (179 lbs)
Was my favourite women thrower at that time, but then got caught using 6?-methylandrostendione which is some kind of women's hormone blocker. Eligible to compete again in 14.07.09. World record 77,80 m owner. Has thrown even further, but those were disqualified after drug test.August 4, 2009 at 1:45 am #80092Trash Boat

Well she isn't injured, that's for sure. World leading 68,92 m in qualifying with first throw. Amazing that some athletes have the ability to do their best of the season when most needed. Very good coaching. Almost like with Majewski.
I prepared myself very seriously for this qualification. But I did not plan to throw that far. This result surprised me very much and even my coach was impressed. He was asking me why I threw so far but I think it was just result of my great shape and hard training. I hope I can also throw very far in the final.
I am very satisfied that I qualified with the first throw but I am totally upset about my feelings today. It was not me today. I could not wake up since the early morning. I wish I would not have the feelings like this in the final. I was very surprised that it flew so far beacuse I felt as a dead girl. I did not expect it to be so bad. But if I am gonna be relaxed, it can be different. I think I should relax more and not to walk that much. I try to think possitively and everything can be different tomorrow.

ParticipantWell, I haven't watched as much of the Championships as you, but I'm definitly enjoying seeing some great althletic women performing at the top level. I'm especially pleased with the performance of my countrywoman Jess Ennis in leading the Heptathlon.
BTW, here's a report which might stimulate debate:

Yes I guess she wins if she just avoids making big mistakes. though tuff competition for other medal positions. Nice to see Dobrynska.
Yes, women are not getting as much attention in athletics as men do. I don't think it's due to the fact that many records seem to be out of reach at the moment. The thing is same all around the sporting world apart from tennis.
I think the best attribute for media attention is how much money athletes get. I don't have the statistics, but I'm pretty sure there won't be lot of females in the top 100 moneymakers.
Which country won the previos women soccer championship? Who is the number 1 golf-female etc.
My guess is that it's just boring to see one doing 100 metres in 10.70 after some other has just ran it a second faster. The women train as hard as men but it's just not the same in the eyes of everyday normal guy.

ParticipantPerhaps that's it, but that is surely a short-sighted attitude, a lot of the enjoyment and excitement of sport is the competition between athletes. I think it is prtly because people don't understand that a lot of those East German athletes were roided up to their eyeballs and that a clean conmpetitor isn't going to break those records. I personally think the IAAF should have the official 100m and 200m records as those after 1989.
