great post
Wow, that first lady totally does it for me, Mari(y)a Abakumova!!! She's my height but clearly much much much stronger than me!!! 😮
Aneta "Van Horn" Florczyk has been a long favorite of mine too, just because of the incredible amounts of strength she has contained within her…
But Maria… Wowowowowowowowowowowowowo!!!!!!! ;D 😮 ;D 😮 ;D 😮 😮 😮

Well from her website you can find a lot more pictures. Forgot to put it in previous post.
And remember to vote keg toss for the next record attempt in the poll 😉

Well, she's been my favourite ever since I saw her for the first time as she rose to the international level in 2007. Very young for a javelin thrower, lots and lots of potential. Would really love to read about her training, lifts and so on (as you probably noticed, she has some muscle in her frame, so I guess she's not weak…rumours tell, that she can throw way over 60 meters without taking speed) but the Russians seem to keep those things often to themselves.
If you wonder about the name, sometimes it is written as Maria and other times Mariya…damn cyrillic alphabets.
Well let's have some more olympic lifters, shall we? I'm not sure about the stats and records, would take too much effort to check them. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Maria De La Puente from Spain.

Have to put this one picture here. This is Finnish lifter Karolina Lundahl showing – well not quite you might call her best performance – but still pretty awesome move ;D The photo was taken during 2000 olympic games, as she was doing her third and final attempt. She lost her balance and didn't get any result. The picture was selected "the sportpicture of the year" in Finland that year.
She is world champion in 1994, 1998 and has several medal positions from different years. She also did shot put.
The 1st post 5 picture down, is definitely a hulking out picture!
Great collection, they look awesome!
Thanks for posting all of these pictures of these phenomenal athletes in action!
Love the female lifters. You got many of the good ones.
