Heini Koivuniemi ~175 cm (5'9") ~71 kg (156 lb)
A Finnish strongwoman and Ms. Galaxy competitor who among other things was second in the WSM competition in 2001. Always a bit behind in strength compared to the other tops, but closed the gap in events in which speed and grip were playing bigger parts.Already posted about her (as well I did for Aneta) in the strongwoman thread, but I guess it's ok to revise from time to time. Couldn't remember the accurate stats, hence I put there something what I think is quite close to real.

This picture brings a image of geisha in my mind for some reason. Not ment to derogate her, but she looks here cute like everyday Asian style. And yes, I'm aware that the Chinese don't have geishas, but for a western guy, all Asians look alike.
February 9, 2009 at 8:19 am #80010fbbfanParticipantShe is attractive…thank you for showing these pics.

February 9, 2009 at 10:02 pm #80012cpbell0033944ParticipantHow on earth did I manage to miss this thread???? Thank-you sir – I LOVE cute female athletes who use their stength in the pursuit of sporting success, and Hanna-Maria is someone I have been looking-for since I saw short-course swimming coverag on TV a couple of years ago. I remember seeing this stunning, Valkyric blonde Finn with huge shoulders and falling in love with her. ;D ::) 😉 8)

What kind of document do you want to post? We've got some pretty tight restrictions to protect viewers from malware.
February 10, 2009 at 11:26 am #80015BugenhagenParticipantFantastic thread. I've been explaining to my athlete friends for years that they are poorly represented for their visual aesthetic.
If you like muscular women you can find site after site filled with gorgeous female bodybuilders along with fitness and figure models, but if you like the more powerful look of a thrower, weightlifter, powerlifter, water polo player, or numerous other athletes; all you can get is a couple of poor action shots from meets. No photo shoots, exotic locations, pool shots, or even candids.
It's a shame really, because there are many exquisite ladies out there that are dedicated to their sports and have the bodies to prove it, all the while getting a shred of the attention and funding their male counterparts get. All I'm saying is that if female athletes marketed as hard as female bodybuilders did, I believe we could see a very different take on athletics as a whole.
Stay tuned… I have a feeling I'm going to find out if this'll work, and all I'm really saying is that I want more shots of muscular female athletes. So different, so talented, so gorgeous.
February 10, 2009 at 11:59 am #80016ant1937ParticipantJust a jpeg of one of my original favs and first strongest woman in the world Jan Todd. Nothing that is stealing or copyrighted. I don't do that.
You guys couold probably google her and see them. Good looking farm gal strength and was the first woman to bring powerlifting to TV and was in SI as the strongest woman in the world in the late 70's. Very cool piece. Had it as a kid for sports and that was a pleasant adddition to my issue. -
