I loved watching the weightlifting from the Olympics but I could only do so online here in the states. At least we got to see the entire round and not "And the USA placed 4th" coverage they tend to broadcast on TV.

I don't remember anymore athletes that fits to this category, but however, I'm going to post one more message, in which I blaab about my favourite lifters. Alreyde mentioned Cao Lei, so no need to blaah about her.

This Thick haired blond started participating sports at the age of four when she begun gymnastics. After trying also swimming and karate, she moved to weightlifting eight years later, when her real talent started to come obvious.

At the 2006 world championship "the ox" won gold – she was only 19 years old – and repeated her success at the next year breaking the world records in snatch and total. In Beijing this Slav had an opportunity to became the first Russian woman to take gold, but China's Liu Chunhong was in phenomenal condition at that time. Have to say though, that I was expecting more from this Russian – she did over 20 kilos better previous year.
