Well…the summer movie season is underway, and I've been having this thought in my head for a while now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but rumor has it that there could be a Spider-Man 4 in theaters next year. And one character that I would absolutely LOVE to see in the movie would be the one of Felicia Hardy aka The Black Cat.
To me, I would like to see Julie Shipley-Childs fit that particular role. Her build is perfect for the role, and she had great charisma to boot.
Anyone else you can think of that would fit the role as Felicia Hardy/Black Cat? Please let your opinions known.
Yes, you can include yourself in the Felicia Hardy/Black Cat role as well.
May 24, 2008 at 11:42 pm #70944iromulus9ParticipantHasn't there already been an actress playing Felicia in one of the previous three movies? I'll have to go watch them again and see…
May 25, 2008 at 1:07 am #70945topdogg17ParticipantNope. Felicia was considered for Spider-Man 3, but for some reason, it was scrapped. Black Cat did make the Spider-Man 2 video game, though.
May 25, 2008 at 2:39 am #70946TC2ParticipantYeah they only had Gwen Stacy who I believe is Bryce Howard.
Though I love your choice of Julie Shipley-Childs as Black Cat I'm not so sure the wonderful executives at hollywood would cast her.
It would be awesome if they did though, she's a very good choice. Nice job matching up the photo with the blackcat illustration.

Second, we can dream all we want but Hollywood is never going to cast a female bodybuilder or fitness competitor as a super heroine or villainess. At best they will cast an actress who might buff up for the role.

That's what I read, but if a week in Hollywood is way too much time, imagine a few months.
It seems Sony wants to do it, but it would all deppend on who holds the rights to make the movie, specially now, that marvel had a big hit with Iron Man and if the comming Hulk goes the same way, maybe Marvel will try to get most of the rights back.
But if we look at Marvel's comming atractions, with so many movies on the way (Cap, Thor, Ant-man, Punisher), they might hold number 4 for while.May 25, 2008 at 8:06 pm #70949Prophet TenebraeParticipantFor a non-sequel, Iron Man had a stupendous opening for a first time solo from Marvel studios… If Hulk gets in that ballpark, they'll do what they should have been pitching for from the start – total independence. It makes things a lot easier… rights are a nightmare when it comes to these things… I mean, I don't want to think about the rights bitching around the DC universe in terms of Smallville/JLU etc…
But if Marvel do it themselves, they can toss in cameos just for the hell of it – see Iron Man's credits.
Granted, if you look at their choice of upcomings… well, some of those are… questionable but then, that said there were tabloid reviews saying Iron Man was the "least known hero"… so, I suppose when you pitch outside the big leagues of Captain America, Spidey, Bats and Superman… you're always going to get a lot of people going "who?"
Anyways, it would be great if Marvel went it alone on Spiderman 4… especially if Sam Raimi wasn't directing it… and to be honest, I'd be keen on a new Spiderman and MJ. Raimi did well in Evil Dead but while there's doubt to Spiderman, when the fuck did he become so emo? Tobster was… ok. Dunst was subpar. I'd LOVE to see Bruce Campbell as Mysterio, that would be great… but really, Spiderman 3 was rubbish. Totally ruined Venom. They didn't even CALL him Venom.
May 26, 2008 at 10:03 am #70950shinmirokuParticipantI'm probably one of the few people that hopes for a complete fresh start. No Raimi, no Tobey(please god no Tobey), and no Dunst(I may be in the minority here too, but I don't think she's attractive at all, especially considering MJ is supposed to be hot).
And even though I like your suggestion TC, as it was already stated, its pretty much guaranteed Hollywood won't get a FBB for the role, the best we can hope for is another Jessica Biel, which I'm not knocking mind you 🙂
June 3, 2008 at 7:54 am #70951DavidParticipantI liked Toby as Peter Parker. He pulled that off. The only good thing about the portrayal of MJ in all three movies was her upside kissing fetish.

I'd cast Lingster's future ex-wife Florina Petcu. Give her some Eastern Euro flair. I'm gonna risk a tangent by also prematurely saying she'd have made a better Baroness than Sienna Miller). She's probably too much woman for Tobey Maguire, but she'll definitely put some hair on Peter Parker's chest. Or vice versa (she could be too much woman for Parker, rather than Maguire–I'm not looking for hair on Petcu's chest). What ethnicity is Black Cat? Irish?
