Well it is “Old Republic”, so it’s not too far fetched. I think that sexy female Jedi that came to the rescue is Balista from KOTOR
June 16, 2010 at 3:03 am #93214SammiChungParticipantI am too confused by this trailer as they talk about the Empire and The Republic yet the clones are still fighting the droid armies, and last I knew of, Order 66 turned the Clones against the Jedi, and the droid armies decomissioned or destroyed outright…as the ‘Empire’ secured the galaxy under its thumb in the guise of pacifying the Trade Federation…
That said… someone mentioned that the main Sith that the Jedi fights is none other then Anakain “aka” Vader but I disagreed… citing that once he was rescued by Palpatine that he could not go without his helmet due to the injuries.
Visually, its stunning… the trailer is everything an enthusiast would want, warfare, saber fights, Jedi and Sith showdowns… but the flinging of lightning bolts and force push ala Street Fighter is a little…disheartening…

Looks great. Now, in what time period is the game set? Because it looked like those sith were Revan and Malak.
Takes place 300 years after the original Knights of the Old Republic.
And yes, epic trailer is epic.

So, the republic rebuilt itself after KOTOR 2. Now, why are the Mandalorians/Stormtroopers working with the republic?
I’m really looking forward for this, and also Force Unleashed 2.
June 16, 2010 at 7:39 am #93221Matthew SichermanParticipantStormtroopers? Here? Surely this is a misunderstanding. Those are Republic troopers(I think) I imagine the armor’s basic design has been around for a very long time, falling in and out of fashion every so often. Palpatine probably just revived an old design when he converted the Republic’s Clone Troopers into Imperial Stormtroopers. Probably took pleasure in the thought that the armor design worn by those who once fought the Sith Empire would now be worn by those who carried out his will.

The current Mandalore is being paid to have them work with the Republic. And the Republic wont have any quarrel with paying them.
June 16, 2010 at 3:36 pm #93226FlakBaitKeymasterAside from playing a couple of the games I can’t claim to be a Star Wars fan. Enjoyed the movies but was always more of a Star Trek person…. so here’s the “aluminum falcon” 😛 getting photon torpedoed by the Enterprise suck it bitches!!!

😆Finding a good Star Wars game is like trying to find a good Star Trek game….hopefully either this or the Force Unleashed 2 will be worth the money this time around. Then again I just enjoy lightsaber-ing off body parts so anything that lets me do that is great w00t Jedi Knight 2!!

OK. Undertood. It kind of makes sense.
@Jumperprime: I was been ironic, because this takes place over 3000 years before the original trilogy and they look like stormtroopers, and they also look like the mandalorians that invaded the republic 300 prior to the events in this game.June 18, 2010 at 6:31 am #93262GWHHParticipantdang-where can I get some of that stuff?
June 18, 2010 at 6:32 am #93263HolidayParticipantI’m confused about the timeline here. But it looks cool. I wish Star Wars: Clone Wars TV series looked like that.
So where can I find published stories of the Jedi who hid in the outer quadrants after Palpatine rose to power?
