wow
can totally understand why they deleted but, man… that was great
I…nerdgasmed as well. It wasn’t as messy as Daroths…but the point is still the same. XD.
As part of the announcement that Star Wars would finally be coming to Blu-ray, George Lucas screened a never-before-seen clip from Return of the Jedi over the weekend, showing Luke Skywalker building his own lightsaber in a cave on Tatooine. But according to Mark Hamill—he never filmed that scene.
The deleted scene debuted at Star War Celebration V and shows Darth Vader telepathically urging Luke to join the Dark Side, while Luke constructs—and ignites—his own lightsaber.
That deleted Star Wars scene? Mark Hamill says it ISN’T him

But it turns out that Mark Hamill, when asked about the existence of such a moment at Comic-Con in 2009, said that “I never shot a scene like that.”

Oh wow another cheap publicity stunt on the part of “Uncle George” Lucas in the hopes of selling tons of Blu-Ray versions of the original trilogy. I guess the catastrophe that were the Prequels (bitter Star Wars fan talking here) left him in the red, and he now needs to make money bad.
Actually, the Prequels made HEAPS of money, as did Lucas for making them. Im not saying they were good (nor am I saying they were Horrible), or held up to the Classics that were the Original Trilogy, but they did Very Well at the box office, and suredly made Goerge a buttload of cash. I too am a Lifelong Star Wars fan (got the figures from the 70s/80s to prove it), and while I dont agree with several decisions Lucas has made in the past 10 or so years, Im not going to let any of that take away from one of The Greatest Movie Trilogies Of All Time, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi, which I had seen as a young child, and LOVE even more today. 🙂
This reminds me of a clip I saw last week, which I’m sure you already know about. I thought it was quite called for. 😉
