November 29, 2014 at 10:52 am #123463khuddleParticipantNot the perfect trailer, but it definetly looked good in parts (particularly the X-Wings across the water, and the Millenium Falcon hurtling across the sky — both fantastic). The lightsaber with the crossguard, I wasn’t so crazy about, but I suspect that its actually an ancient version of the lightsaber, and that the “crossguard” are actually vents to rid the weapon of excess energy.
I suspect Abrams will give us some really satisfying space battles — that’s his forte. Hopefully he gives us some decent lightsaber duels as well.

:whistle:December 1, 2014 at 7:35 am #123482SammiChungParticipantI think I’m gonna just say Nay to this movie… I’m still hurting over his lackluster half a$$ed try at Star Trek, in general I don’t like him and for all the banter about ‘going’ back to old School FX they sure overdid it with the CGI… again.
December 1, 2014 at 10:52 am #123484khuddleParticipantThe cast of the new Star Trek — with the exception of Zachary Quinto, who was superb as Spock — was terrible,
and thats really what those movies mediocre. Chris Pine was a terrible Kirk, girl who played Uhura was annoying,
and particularly the kid they got playing Chekov was a disaster. I think that was the problem with those new Trek movies,
you just didn’t care about the cast. Certainly they did not have near the chemistry of the brillant Shatner – Kelley – Nimoy trio.Star Wars 7 well we are just going to have to wait and see. I think it will be a typical Abrams flick — a fun ride at the theatres, but not much more than that — certainly nothing memorable.
December 2, 2014 at 3:19 am #123487AshleeParticipantI have to agree the SW I-III we got Lucas political views all threw it. The actors were terrible!
the First Star Trek was good the second was a piece of shit! KKKKKKKKKHHHHHHHAAAAAANNNNNN! sigh! Richardo you are missed!!!December 3, 2014 at 12:54 pm #123509SammiChungParticipantOh no Quinto was mediocre at Spock in the first film but progressed a bit in the second. Only Dr. McCoy aka Karl Urban was the decent one of both movies, I like Simon as a Comedian but he’s too short and not Scottish enough to be Montgomery, Chekov was fine, he’s a teenager he’s supposed to be annoying, but I didn’t believe in Uhura and Spock’s romance or her as Uhura (there simply was no grace in her to be found) Pine… well unfortunately he wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t want him to helm a Trek revival series as Kirk… he might be able to get better but… I doubt it… something about Shat’s overacting (overreacting) just made Kirk seem like a total bad-A$$ even when he wasn’t trying to be. As for J.J directing them… he admitted that Trek was his LEAST favorite sci-fi universe but he did it to get cred for Star Wars… that’s why I dislike him more than should be possible…
