Forget SGU, and SGA, for that matter – wasn’t much of a fan of it, too much whining by McKay.
IMHO SG-1 was, and still is, the best of all three series.
And that’s Jack O’Neill – spelt w/ two LLs . . .
Yep. I’ve bought the SG-1 series on DVD, even the later seasons that I wasn’t much invested in. But I won’t be getting any episodes of SGA or SGU.
Actually, I came to like the cast change over(s) in the last few seasons. At first I wasn’t certain it would work w/o Don Davis, and later still Richard Dean Anderson, but for my part it did.
I have the CD original scores, movie as well as the SG-1 and SGA series. Might not have liked SGA as a series, but the soundtrack was first rate.

ParticipantI always found SG-1 terribly bad and hokey. Maybe that’s just me. Haven’t seen any of the other stuff.

ParticipantI didn’t mind the cast changeover, but when they introduced the Ori (aka Goa’uld MK2) it went from being “I’m watching this every week” to “I’ll catch it when I get a chance”. So I still watched, but wasn’t that invested in what was going on.
When it came to SGA, I started with “I’ll catch it if I get the chance” to “If the episode promos look good, I might check it out.” I gave SGU a chance initially, but it was *really* boring. I checked out the finale based solely on the info that Rhona Mitra would show up and kick some butt somehow…it was pretty decent, but I’m still not sold on it.

KeymasterWell originally when Richard Dean Anderson wanted to leave the writers thought season 8 was going to be it because Amanda Tapping wanted out as well then she stayed on later Ben Browder was brought in and SciFi wanted to continue another couple of seasons so the Ori thing came out as a way to replace the Gou’ald who had been mostly defeated. Kinda similar to Babylon 5 when everyone thought season 4 was going to be it so all the major plots were wrapped up as quickly as possible then it got unexpectedly picked up for another season….oops…. I didn’t like the later seasons, they were okay but I stopped watching every week as well. I mostly watched SGA at first because I think Rachel Luttrell is hot :p but I got to enjoy it as much as the original after a season. Jason Momoa was a pretty wooden actor though.
I gave SGU the first half of the season and was totally unenthusiastic so that was it. If I’m so uninterested I can’t even remember most of the characters names it’s not a good thing. I was tempted to check out Rhona’s appearance but settled for some screencaps of her in the tight leather outfit :p I check the episode summaries on wikipedia to see if they spark any interest but to date they have not.

In what’s got to be the biggest Stargate-related news of the year, Joseph Mallozzi, executive producer for both Stargate Universe and Stargate Atlantis, announced details about an upcoming crossover between the two series, while at the same time teasing us with a big mystery.
Here’s what Mallozzi had to say:
[quote]With word from producer John G. Lenic that the deals have been closed on those Atlantis alums, we can now move forward on the script, secure in the knowledge that both extra-special guest stars will actually be on hand to say the dialogue written specifically for them. Great news for fans of the old series. There was a reluctance to move ahead with an SGA crossover, particularly on my part, because the feeling was it would step on the timing of the SGA movie, Stargate: Extinction, the events of which directly proceed the Atlantis series finale, Enemy at the Gate. But given the delay on the movie front and the ideal premise pitched out by Remi Aubuchon and Brad Wright, it was decided to go ahead with the crossover.
Which makes us go, “Hooray!”
But it also makes us go—”Hey! Which Atlantis stars are you talking about?”
Unfortunately, we won’t be finding out exactly which “extra-special guest stars” will be popping up on SGU until Syfy makes its official announcement. But that gives us a great excuse to speculate, because Mallozzi promises answers to the following questions:
Are Sheppard and Nancy rekindling their relationship? Are McKay and Keller married yet? Has Carson completely adjusted to the life he left behind? Are Rodney and Radek still having it out on a daily basis? Is Torren teaching his fellow pre-schoolers how to stick fight? What’s going on with Ronon and Amelia? Was Woolsey happily reunited with his yorkie? Did Major Lorne come out with any personal revelations? Again, stay tuned.
I’m guessing it’s too much to hope that “extinction” will have this stupid Destiny ship just blow the hell up so we can go back to having new episodes of “Stargate Atlantis” instead of this grimdark angsty excuse for a stargate series called universe….so here’s a picture of Lt. Hooters the only 2 good things on Universe 😛

ParticipantFrom what i hear there are not going to be any movies be they cross overs or not made and the whole franchise is on the shelf no more SGU or SGA.I thought that tyhe 1st season of Universe was kind of slow but I actaully liked the 2nd season.

ParticipantI loved SGU. It was my favorite SG show, and one of my all time SCI-FI favorites.
It would be a dream come true for me to give the executives at “SyFy” a good beating. -
