ParticipantI loved all of the stargate series. They were pretty cool. The thing is there is probably enough blame to go around for everyone and not just syfy.I blame the out of date neilson rating system and the way syfy schedules its programing.Plus the fact that the head guy of the franchise said if you dont like it dont watch it.Also syfy shouldn’t of cancled SGA like they did and keep it so that it would lead into the first year of SGU but it didn’t i guess they needed room for wrestling lol.

ParticipantSG-1 became the longest running science fiction series of all time. Running as long as it did, the characters became some of the best developed of any show on tv and the dynamics between the characters took on such an amazing rapport. I was quite unhappy with the loss of both Don Davis and Richard Dean Anderson but am a huge fan of Farscape so I was thrilled to have Ben Browder and Claudia Black on SG-1. I was disappointed that the writers were not keen enough to capitalize on the chemistry dynamics of Black and Browder. Instead they seemed determined to avoid it which was just plain foolish as was avoiding the chemistry of Michael Shanks and wife Lexa Doig who met on Andromeda.
I watched SGA and SGU too but my opinions on both are a bit more mixed. Of the SGU characters, I think the most interesting characters were Eli and Greer. I am certainly agreed that SGU did not feature Lt. Über Boober (in that overwhelmed t-shirt) more often, and Rhona Mitra was a treat too, but I absolutely hated that they killed off both Ginn (Julie McNiven) and Dr. Amanda Perry (Kathleen Munroe) not just once, but twice! Both women left me with my jaw agape every time. :woohoo:
As for the name change to Syfy, Leonard from The Big Bang Theory echoed my exact sentiments of “What the hell is Siffee??”. They just keep trying to alienate their core audience with stupid decisions one after another. “Syfy”, dumb “paranormal” reality shows, and WWE?!? WTF???

KeymasterJust a sidebar, but has anyone else noticed the Lowe’s – Homeowner’s Training Commercial that just starting running this month on television is using a theme music strangly similar to that that was used by the Stargate Atlantis series?

That’s why I prefer to call it the “syphilis” channel now, all those crappy half-assed reality shows on there like some STD 😛 It seems like most of the channels that started off targeted to a specific niche have generalized their programming to increase ratings while selling out the people who supported them.

Yes I did, I had to see it twice before I believed it and the first time I actually thought it was an episode of Atlantis coming on TV…really odd.

ParticipantSo do i have to take some penicillin now since i am watching syfy lol teasing.I have to agree with you they are selling out there core audience for reality shows and wrestling. The ex’s at syfy responded with a open letter to fans about getting rid of SGU.It was a interesting read pretty much we did everyhting we could etc blah blah blah. The problem isn’t just doing away with SGU its the direction they are taking and veiwers don’t like it.Sad thing is they won’t listen and just keep alienating fans.
Can someone post the comercial with the SGA sounding music?Lastly I think they are getting concernd since there has been so much outrage on there facebook page and twitter account.

I was planning on including it with my post yesterday, but I couldn’t find it on YouTube. Might not be uploaded there yet, or I wasn’t looking long enough.
I might add, there are four CDs available w/ the original scores of Stargate. One from the 1994 movie (the 2006 re-release Delux Edition has extra tracks on it not originally included), two from SG-1 and one from Stargate Atlantis.

ParticipantI recognize her from an episode of Reaper. I noted her as a candidate for Wonder woman!
