how about cinema 4d. from maxon. any thoughts about that software.i might be able to buy a copy for a very cheap price from a friend. is it in any way comparable to maya?
http://www.maxon.net/index_e.html
thanks in advance…

I see, interesting, and how do you modify the base mesh in order to achieve the desired mass?

oh, no problem at all, well Cinema is a pretty neat package with extremely well thought interface that's easier to grasp than other 3d packages. It has a nice modeling toolset, a capable render, some pretty interesting modules like hair, cloth and toon render, and maxon (the software house that makes cinema) is one of the best in the biz, really nice guys
how does it compare with maya?, cinema has an easier learning curve, stronger modeling features and an easier render to set up, mentalRay while being one of the best render engine available is pretty hard to tame, on the other hand maya has the best character animation tools (with softimage), a bigger and supportive community of users which means that you'll find out that someone else has run into the same problem before you so it's a great help, lot's of excellent learning tools available and gives you an edge when looking for work
I think that you'll be satisfied if you choose cinema, but the best advice would be to download the trial versions of all these softs and mess around a bit with them and see which one feels best for you (I'd try also softimage, the base version offers the best bang for the buck and has great character animation tools, only, I can't stand the interface, but that's a matter of taste)

Displacement maps, morph targets. I'm still using Poser6. I have Maya 4.5, Lightwave7, 3dsmax5, but never had time to master them, still sit by Poser 6. 😐

I started with 3dsMax3 way back when and got used to it. I've tried Poser many times but havn't been able to come up with anything remotely as nice as your work. I'd say that you've just got the skills for Poser, so stick with it!
Hey, if you need an object or something done for a scene, let me know and I'll see if I can get it made for ya. 🙂 (that is if you don't already have someone that'll do that for you)

What's with all the holes in the model? What I see looks HOT tho! Keep it up!

June 11, 2006 at 8:46 am #28471elee0228ParticipantHi, this is my first post here, so far I've lurked and enjoyed what has been posted on this board so it's time that I start to contribute something too, I used to do enhancements and even had a yahoo group and a site (the site should be still up and never got an update in the last 3/4 years but if you want to check it should be reachable at go.to/shemuscle or something like that 😛 )
Sorry, I was a little slow putting 2 and 2 together. So this is your old site, right?:
http://members.fortunecity.com/max10b/shemuscle/I remember reading the start of the She-Force comic you were putting together. I really dug it, and was hoping to see the conclusion. Are you still doing 2D artwork? I'd love to see more.
