Is this the old thing you’re talking about when Katil Luoto wore Tetsuko shirt in this grip strength competition? http://amaz0ns.com/forum/Web-Links/77718-Finnish-Strongwoman-Wears-Tetsuko-T-Shirt

    That’s the one I found.

technically can’t DCM sue them for plagarizing? if Tetsuko is a copyrighted character then he can. but yeah i was also wondering if he had a T shirt line, i wouldn;t mind getting one!

I remember a conversation once upon a time where it was said (and I think it was by DCM, but my memory is clearly not so great on details) that yes it would technically be possible to sue for copyright infringement, but it might not be a financially viable thing to do to vigorously protect that copyright without the assets of a corporation behind him.

I’m curious too what happened in the end last time and of course about how things will go this time.

Maybe someone can speak to Amanda about helping to protect DCM’s work? She already has a line of communication with the company (at least on a level greater than DCM).

Found the company. Manage to search the web and this company has the logo that matches DCM’s artwork.

    here is the image:

Thank you for the info! At their site I found an email address (info@thedriveclothing.com) I can write to and (I hope) get this situation settled.

I’ll let you know how it turns out. Once again, many thanks!

I’ve sent the following email to The Drive clothing company:

My name is David C. Matthews, and I am the artist responsible for the piece “Female Muscle Pinup” seen here

It has come to my attention that this artwork is being featured on apparel your firm is selling. This art has been altered (cropped and converted to grayscale) without my permission, without notice of using my artwork for commercial purpose, and no offer of any compensation whatsoever for my rights in my artwork.

Your unauthorized use of my artwork is therefore violating my rights in this artwork, and I must therefore demand that you immediately cease all sales and marketing of any and all products featuring this artwork.

I’ll let you know what reply they make (if any).

I do have a Tetsuko T-shirt available through Cafepress… also keychains, a wall clock, and a mousepad.

Dave’s letter must have been effective.

This shirt is not for sale anymore as far as I can see.

I tried connecting to the link and it is unusable. I tried searching for it in the shirt section, and could not find it either. I wonder if it is truly gone?

If the company was smart perhaps they would have communicated with Dave and work out a deal. I think Dave’s work can translate very well to shirt designs and abroad.

Especially geared to those who are into fitness scene.

Hopefully the company that posted it have not only contacted him but gave him an opportunity to run a business deal with DCM :).
