ParticipantFrom what I've heard, it's not just DA; it seems that there's a lot of art-hosting websites that are not good for posting original art on. Is there any site that actually IS trustworthy?

Participant*sigh* Well…main reason I joined Dev Art, was to show out MY art…hopefully no one has jacked me…yet.

ParticipantI think you guys are overreacting. Everytime 6-8 months it happens. DA will use your drawings, your finished works, in their products, like adverstment an prints, not take a hold of your intelectual property.
Seriously..

ParticipantIf DA were to make a series out of my characters, that would be flattering for me… :/

Participant[tt]deviantART does not claim ownership rights in Your Content. For the sole purpose of enabling us to make your Content available through the Service, you grant to deviantART a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, re-format, store, prepare derivative works based on, and publicly display and perform Your Content. Please note that when you upload Content, you allow third parties to copy, distribute and display your Content.[/tt] (italic emphasis added; bold emphasis in original)
That might sound a little harsh, but when you consider that simply reducing the size of the image to make a thumbnail to display on the front page counts as reformatting your deviation, it's not too harsh. The same goes with distribution. DevArt offers a mild (and barely functioning if memory serves) feed that would allow you to display a handful of the most recent deviations submitted onto your own web page or blog. Like flickr, you'd click the link for the image and be directed back to the dev art main site. When you submit art to deviant, you're allowing them to do this.
I'm not too paranoid about deviant stealing anything I might submit, and if you want to get a (small) cut of the roylaties on your work, you could always submit your deviation as a print.

ParticipantSheezy Art? BETTER? Have you been eatin' space cakes man?!
That place is so SHIT, it's full of trolls and kids who have no fucking clue and flame flame flame everything they see. It WAS better before, when it allowed mature art. Now it's full of close-minded hater fucks.
I'm not saying DA isn't, but on DA it's harder for them to be like that.
I like FA, personally. Everyone there is so open minded.March 10, 2006 at 6:56 am #22255BlackKusanagi

ParticipantYeah, FurAffinity. It's actually pretty good cause you can post whatever you like there, pretty much. Everyone is extremely open-minded and I've never been flamed once.
And I know it might seem supprising im there xD since I'm not a fan of furries.. but most of them are really nice people. -
