I'm surprised to read there was a teen figure class in this year's Europa. What's the point? First of all, figure is already a bit dubious in its standards. So what can we expect of teenagers, especially newcomers? With fitness it's easier to judge them by their performance and they've got more advantages than older women. IMHO, only Victoria Larvie and Ariel Khadr could hope to meet those standards because they've spent many years in development. Ariel can now compete with adults in figure. But the rest don't impress me.

Well, I may be about to make myself sound very stupid, but shouldn't the judging standards be modified to allowfor the fact that a teenage girl can't build like a twenty-or thirty-something adult can?

Sounds reasonable. They have teen bodybuilding and there is a definate maturity diference when compaired to the older women, so why not figure?

    just my thoughts…

Indeed. And what's wrong with getting young women in the sport early? With rampant obesity causing all kind of problems, I say "Way to go Girls!".

I'm all for healthy strong girls. But looking at past competitors I wonder if fitness or bodybuilding is really the better areas to prove themselves. Or perhaps teen bodybuilding could incorporate figure standards instead.
