ParticipantFor you this week, here are a few scans featuring Terri who appeared quite some time ago in the ABC Warriors series.
Terri was a human who had actually come to believe she was a robot. One of the organic slaves (a “Terr-1“) of the Mekaniks, she grew up believing herself to be a robot, albeit a low-caste one due to being made of flesh. She had been raised in captivity by The Mekaniks (a group of robots who were assigned to protect the tomb of Emperor Zallin), and all of her life, she had tried to imitate her masters, making her body hard and muscular and trying to turn her soft skin into steel, like a robot. She’d even managed to teach herself to absorb pain without flinching – just like her masters. With The Mekaniks, Terri came to learn the values of efficiency and recycling (which led to her cannabilistic tendancies), and eventually gave birth to a child, Wayne. The Mekaniks awarded her three productivity stars for her effort and allowed her to go on patrol with a squad of ‘Rim Riders,’ Mekanik bikers watching for intruders. It was during this patrol that The Mekaniks had their first encounter with The Warriors. Terri was captured, and mistook Hammerstein for Craig, the father of her baby. She had been artificially impregnated by The Mekaniks (for reasons never made clear), and had always pictured ‘Craig’ as looking exactly like Hammerstein.
After betraying The Warriors, Terri‘s baby was killed by her former masters, leading her to see how ‘ineffecient’ The Mekaniks actually were. She managed to save Hammerstein‘s life during The Warriors second confrontation, leading Deadlock to make her the seventh Warrior, in place of Ro-Jaws.
Terri and Hammerstein became fiercely loyal to each other in the short time they were together, and made plans to find a small planet to settle down when their mission was complete. Unfortunately, Terri died during The Warrior‘s final battle with The Monad.I hope you’ll enjoy the pics, even if the quality vary between the various artists rendering her.
