GuestWell, here she is!
I was really nervous about doing this, only because I am a HHHUUUUUGGGEEEE fan of Tetsuko (and Dave, of course :-)), and I wanted to do a tribute, and not something to make everyone go "eewwwwww"….
I *think* I succeeded. The hardest part was duplicating her hair. I had to do a lot of postwork, but I think it's at least OK … not great, but OK…. 😐
THANK YOU to Dave for permission to do this work, and for his feedback during the process. He accepted a couple of WIP renders, and gave GREAT feedback that ultimately improved the shot 1000%.
Here she is, in all her topless glory 😀

ParticipantFascinating approach. If I were Dave I'd be impressed. Heck, I'm impressed anyway! The hair came out well. More important, I thought the fluidity of the action worked. Thanks for sharing.

Oh man, I'm gonna sound like such a fanboy…. 😳
You have no idea what it means to have you say that … An honor, for sure … I'm not getting too big-headed :-), and I know I have *much* yet to learn, but it is nice to have you say that ….
Thanks!

ParticipantGiven that people give poser a bad rap for creating samey things, this does a remarkable job of capturing Tets' likeness.

ParticipantWonderful facial likeness. How'd you do that?
Also, the rest of her ain't bad either.
Well done.May 19, 2006 at 4:26 am #28550Anonymous
GuestFred,
Actually, since there's so much source material :-), it was easy to make a good face. The Aiko model for DAZ|Studio has an "Anime" head morph, and many other face-changing morphs. It was actually quite easy to match her up, since Dave's style is Anime-like (for Tetsuko, anyway). The hard part was painting the hair :-(. I started off with some DAZ hair to get the general idea, then painted over it. Of course, I just today got some hair-painting brushes for the GIMP, so it would have come out better if I had those a few days ago :-(. Ah well, it's not too bad… Next time! 🙂
