My opinion, the winners deserve bigger paydays.. and I understand that may not be feasible, as the contest currently exists. But I’ve been saying for a while, they should utilize a GoFundMe, or something similar, to help fund bigger paychecks for the contestants. They may already be doing this to some extent, but..?
Female bodybuilding is pretty fan-driven niche.. and I think fans would come thru with contributions. I also think if the purses were supplemented by fan contributions, then the judging would open up some to fan standards (ie- bigger muscle would be rewarded). But this is just conjecture..

I don’t intend to be a debbie downer, but the truth of the matter is the FM community we have is still very small. There are way more small-minded individuals who think women should look feminine and do not want to support FBBs. Then there’s the other section of the community that is afraid to admit they love FBBs and don’t do anything to support it. Or, they’re afraid to contribute money because their secret would be revealed.

I don’t think a GoFundMe will work, not without something in return.

You could be right, and I don’t think your take is a ‘downer’.. But I’m not sure how you’ve quantified the ‘very small’ number of female muscle fans. I see several muscle comic and video companies out there now. And seems most pro female bodybuilders (that I look at) have several (to tens of) thousand social media followers, across their collective platforms.
I like to think there would be at least several hundred supporters, who could each give $25, or something similar.. even anonymously (to your point about privacy/embarrassment). The service would take it’s fees, but if fans & sponsors could net $5-10K, that would elevate the contest’s rewards.
Also wish someone with more connections and innovation than myself, could put together a fan-financed strength show.. like the old Women’s Extravaganza. I went to Raye Hollitt’s self-organized strength show about 15 years ago. And I saw how hard she worked to have to put (& keep) it together. Even to where she was personally responding to e-mails about tickets, etc. Would be cool to spread that task around to fans who would finance & organize a show ourselves.. /peace
