my computer has now decided that i am not allowed to open any file type on my hard drive…. so unless i can get this sorted by friday, there may not be an update at THE COVE this week… (as some of you may have noticed… i now update every 2 weeks)

if anyone can help me with this problem.. let me know…
oh be4 you say it, yes i have tried system restore to before the problem started and that didnt work..

for any techies who are interested….

every file type on my hard drive wont open whether i go through the program to open it or whether i open it directly.
i get the error message:

File type not supported.

but when you hover the mouse over the file it tells yoiu its a jpeg or .doc etc, i have all the programs for the files but no files will open…

(i build websites as a sideline and i have 5 under construction at the moment for other companys in different satges of compleation and i cant access any of them)

i have xp and i cant find any reference to the problem on microsoft s website nor in my support centre on my computer

ive tried system restore and that didnt work,

any help would be appreciated…

I'm not a techie, but I was wondering if you ran you anti-virus program from the disk?  It sounds like you may have a virus.

ive virus scanned, scan disked, anti spywared, and none of that has worked, the only thing i can think of is that the hidden .db files in the folders have been corrupted, but i dont know how to replace them
