While surfing the ‘Net, I came across a story line posted by someone who said:  “After having seen martial arts film, "My Lucky Stars" and other unusual lower budget movies w/ sensual looking women, I had an idea for a film that presents a strong asian woman as a villain…“ Reading his treatment, I was struck by how close the description could be to Es. I copied his posting to read more carefully and forgot about it. Till now.

Using his text as a skeleton, I embellished the story into a Monster prequel. I’ve since tried to find the author (I can’t remember his name) and the original post with Google, but failed miserably. Maybe that’s a small blessing, since he might not like what I did to his story or want to be identified with my modifications. Therefore, his name remains unknown (even to me) but I credit him fully with the basic plotline for this scene.

The Monster, Prequel: Samurai’s Echo

In Japan, a Korean girl in her teens, a mere 18 year-old, is researching a topic for a school project. Her research is about a particular Japanese female samurai that lived almost 200 years ago. An exchange student from overseas, she attends a boarding school, just outside Tokyo. The girl has no friends or family and her past is not known.

She possessed great skill in the martial arts and had also strength beyond other women or even men…. a secret which no one in her family knew at that time. To gain the necessary physical strength to be a samurai…. and overpower her male victims, she invented ways of increasing her own strength. Living near the countryside she found ways , using different sizes of stones, tree limbs, and horse carts, to increase her muscle size and strength throughout her body. She often tortured herself, just to obtain this high degree of strength, and, above all….kept this a secret even from her siblings. Eventually , the woman disappeared , leaving almost no clues….after she had killed between 10 to 15 men with shocking brutality. For many years, the crimes were never attributed to her, but presumably to a male warrior of awesome strength. Later when a sword was found…it was traced to the noble family of the girl….and her mysterious lifestyle was slowly and gradually discovered.

Back to modern day….the cop on the case meets the Korean girl and duly questions her… finding himself a little attracted to her. Her face is smooth and long, a gorgeous visage of strong young femininity. She plays along , cool and flirty as the earthy, but brainy type, working on her project. He only sees the side of her as conservative young student…but with some strange sex appeal.

He's going to break the line completely between his duty to the case and his feelings. She again changes in the bathroom….and asks the cop to close his eyes as he is lying under the covers with his clothes off. Only this time, she goes a step further.

Thats a great comparison, I agree for the most part, that the gore parts do remind me a lot of Dmaynard's stuff, but I think reaper's muscle description is much better, all around, and Es might be stronger than any of D Maynard's women, but whatever comes next for Es, I can't wait to read it!

I'm flattered to be compared to Dmaynard, who has many unique and provacative stories to offer.

As to The Monster representing a whole new species of human, I haven't a clue. ;D Maybe she's a homo supremis, maybe a homo muscularien, or maybe… I'll leave it to your imagination!

One thing that I will resist is to take Es to the super-superhuman level. She won't be 7' tall or weigh 400lbs, or be bulletproof. And what of the clearly superhuman feats and bodyparts in "Termination Alley"? These scenes are not written to be ideally consistent with each other, and Es' abilities will fluctuate. I'm all right with that.

The truly unvarying thing that sets The Monster apart is her will to dominate. And considering that will is essentially unstoppable and feeds her muscles and strength, it should not be underestimated.  😉
