Hello, my fellow FMG enthusiasts.

For those of you not in the know, Gail Simone recently relaunched Gen13, although the book has fallen under the radar of a lot of the big name comic enthusiasts, which is sad because I think the book's been doing really well.

Of particular note, I like what she's done with Fairchild's character. In Jim Lee's original series, all the gawky nerd aspects of her character disappeared as the series went on. In this new series, Gail Simone has kept Fairchild's nerdy aspects at the fore of her personality, which is awesome because it contrasts with how nice she looks. Just because she's become a superwoman doesn't mean she's comfortable with it.

Nerd moment over. Has anyone else been checking out the new Gen13 lately? I realize this book's version of Fairchild is kind of lean, but I still like her  😀

, Don't get me started on this new version. As a guy who started reading comic books when Image appeared, I have to say that I can't stand this new releases. I grew up reading spawn, Gen 13, WildCATS, Savage Dragon, back in '93 '94, so this new versions are just not to the level they should be.

Particularly on Gen 13, and Fairchild, i think in the original series she never lost her nerdy views of things. Sadly, she, and all the gen 13 cast suffered a major personality change each time the series got a new creative team.  So, the original Fairchild, that apperared in the mini sreies, has nothing to do with the one that appeared in the final issues of the regular series.

and finally, A BRA?!?!?! came on guys, if fairchild needs a bra, then what's left for the rest of mearly human beings. Adamamntium reinfireced bras, and breast implants made out of tthe Blob's last liposuction?

I never followed the series – I knew of it only because of Fairchild's transformation – I checked out the relaunch in the hope that it would give us a good transformation… well, talk about cheated.

The problem of characters changing is a big one in all comics, you swap writers and artists around and characters can end up not even LOOKING like they "should".

Very true, man. Yeah, I felt cheated in that aspect of the story, liked it in others. As for the bra… I've only seen that bit on the cover to that Worldstorm thing, and while I liked the ripped up clothes on the cover, I thought it looked like they'd given Fairchild a neaderthal nose! Come on! Her nose isn't the widest in all the land!

I just wish the series had MORE Fairchild in it. Sure the other characters are nice, and it did the impossible which was make me like Grunge, but come on… more Fairchild!

First thing first, Grunge is not lieable, period. He might be funny, cool, or whatever, but he is not likeable. I fell that the only really lieable character of the series should be Fairchild. If the new creative team wants Grunge to be the man everybody like, then I finally understand why I don't like this new run.

Other reason that I don't like this new series is, that I might hgave spected it to be like the original mini, and now I'm certain it won't be. I concider myself a fan from the start, and I guess I can just erase all my memories and read it like a new title.

I bring this to your attention because I think that many might like it:

Gen 13 Issue 7 features Caitlin running around in cavewoman garb and she looks pretty good while doing it.

I like it I like it I LIKE IT.

I now need to see a grudge match between Caitlin and Shanna the She-Devil NOW!
