Is that Titania as in THE Titania? She dyed her hair?
And wow – that's a lot of fem muscle.

No, this is a different one and she gets killed off in this issue. Marvel's had two or maybe its three differing women with the name Titania. There was a dark-haired one that was part of Squadron Supreme, with a 20-ton pressing power, this one (which might be the same one, but I don't know for certain) that was part of the Grapplers and of course, red-haired Mary "Skeeter" MacPherran who took up the title after her Super Amazonian transformation in the Secret Wars.
And yes, it is a lot of fem muscle, especially if you concider the fact that it was published in 1986 – but then such things were in vogue as a part of accepted popular culture thanks to women like Cory Everson.

December 24, 2005 at 8:50 am #19730DavidParticipantThis issue led into the most disappointing episode of all time. Sharon Ventura goes to the Power Broker and gets super strength but does she get any muscle? Hell no. A further disappointment is later in her history she makes a deal with Dr. Doom and he turns her into the She-Thing. What a waste.

No disagreement there, I also have the issue with Sharon as Ms Marvel 2 taking on the She-Hulk in a tussle, might scan a few panels from it if any are interested.
Just a side bar, but given how they portrayed Sharon in this one (w/ a gorgeous Cindy Phillps-like facial profile) and the way they've thus far revealed Jen in the Ultimates as attractive in her own right, I wouldn't be surprised if they make her into a nasty uglified version of the She-Hulk, too.

However, she did not receive the complete treatment either. She was supposed to be subjected to some sort of ray to finish the procedure but never did. 😥
It's very typical of mainstream comics. Btw, I read a preview issue earlier that year that contained future information for all of the Marvel characters. For the issues of the Thing they had a few of his enemies that he was suppose to meet later and Thundra was among the characters. I was under the assumption that Sharon was going to be the new Thundra but the series was cancelled. I could never confirm my theory at any comic conventions. Btw, both are redheads. 🙂
