TC2ParticipantWell I could see why this guy wasn't selling any comics, the name "Purple Avenger" really doesn't kind of JUMP OUT at me. Though I like the physique he gave her the whole thing seems a bit badly written, the only reason I'd buy this comic book is to see more muscles that but that's about.

ParticipantItโs done like a Small Press book, but with the skill level of an Inde publication. Probably testing the waters with the Digest to see if itโs worth going full size. Did this guy have a web site listed anywhere in the book?

Yeah. It's really hard to follow. Plus the girl can leap from buildings apparently, and land safely from jumping off one…yet a kick to the face DOESN'T leave the guy unable to talk or move. Hell, at least Spidey has the excuse that he pulls all his punches.
One minute she seems to have superpowers, the next she's barely got the physical strength to pick herself up. On top of that, she has ONE bruise on her shoulder. No blood, no black eye, no wounds at all save for that one bruise.
I think there's a good reason this comic didn't sell. They read it. ๐

ParticipantMy opinion seems to echo the consensus: good, serviceable art (the guy does know how to draw a muscular woman), but the story is weak. He undercuts the character horribly when, in our first good look at how she operates, he allows her to be beaten up by an apparently ordinary gang of street thugs (and has to be rescued by a cartoonish old lady wielding a stun gun!!). I think I understand what he's trying for here, but the execution fails, and we're left with a "heroine" who's incompetent at best.
