The Purple Avenger! [NICE MUSCLES] BAD WRITING

    My opinion seems to echo the consensus: good, serviceable art (the guy does know how to draw a muscular woman), but the story is weak. He undercuts the character horribly when, in our first good look at how she operates, he allows her to be beaten up by an apparently ordinary gang of street thugs (and has to be rescued by a cartoonish old lady wielding a stun gun!!). I think I understand what he's trying for here, but the execution fails, and we're left with a "heroine" who's incompetent at best.

    Exactly. We see her jump from building to building, kick a guy so hard his feet follow the point of impact, and take down another thug with a SINGLE blow to the face. We then see that the old lady KNOWS the man has a wooden plank, yet doesn't do shit to help the poor girl until after she's beaten with the plank and then kicked repeteadly. No consistancy. The old woman is concerned with the girl ONLY AFTER she's beaten up.

    On top of all this, we see her doubting herself. We have no sympathy for her. We saw ONE fight, ONE loss and that's it.

    When writers do it with Spider-man, it makes sense. We know Spidey. We know his character. We sympathize for it.

    She does have a good body…shitty story…but enough of that…I wanna see more her…lol.

    I have the rest of the comic but man if u thought that was bad. . . u just . . . dont wanna see the rest this guys named the Gental thug comes in. . . .

    Oh, what the hell… post the rest of it! If the rest of the art is as nice as the first part, maybe we can ignore/forgive the story.
