ParticipantAshlee raised the topic of this issue of Action Comics in another thread, which gave me the idea of my next comic post. This is the issue number 395 of Action Comics featuring a Space amazon named Althera and her crew. The physique of these Space-Amazons ( from Planet Vrandar ) isn’t really spectacular to our eyes, but they are still quite toned, and you have to remind that this comic was published in 1970, so they must have appeared really muscular at these times…
So enjoy this little travel back in time. B)

ParticipantThey should bring her into post crisis continuity. XD Or at least throw Demolitia into another issue.

ParticipantMurphy Anderson inked the story. I see that Curt did draw the women more muscular than was the norm at the time. Been ages since I read this.

ParticipantYep, this was a favorite comic of mine. I still own it and I wish that I chimed in earlier for Ashlee just to keep her from doubting herself. 😉
Curt Swan did a nice job with the musculature considering the era that it was drawn. I don’t remember who did the embellishing on it but they did a great job bringing out Swan’s artwork.
Another good one was where Lois turned into a hulking monster that could also shrink. I know, a strange concept. I believe it was called Lois Lane, Monster. Not bad musculature for that time. I could dig around to see what issue that it appeared in if everyone is interested. Of course, if someone comes up with it first, that’ll be fine, too. 🙂

Dorfman?/Swan…October 1965, I remember owning it because that was the year of the big flood, bout it at a local Rexall off a squeaky spinning rack. :cheer:
