The series is based roughly on the idea of something like FFX2; three girls in pursuit of finding one guy.

In this case, our heroines are Sakura, Ino, and Hinata. They're assisted by Tsunade, Shizune, and Anko (and of course the Konoha male-nin) in an effort to try and rescue Naruto from the clutches of Sound.

The idea follows a game idea I had, in which you play as the three and have different forms that can be utilized in battle. In other words, there's "Sasuke CM2" [Curse Mark 2]. It gives them wings, but as a downside they are literally unable to touch ground, no matter how hard they try.

There's "Naruto Kyuubi", in which they slowly lose all their Chakra until its depleted, in which they exit the form.

A third one is "Gaara Shield", in which a shield of Chakra forms around them. This decreases their Chakra at a more rapid rate than the Kyuubi form.

Granted,t he story'd take a while (and I dunno if I'd finish it) but I wanted to know if it seems like a good idea.

Naruto? FFX2? This isn't some kind of fanfic is it?

Sounds like a fine idea, a story series, I mean.  😉

More seriously, writing within a series format does have some advantages over one-shot singles, not only do you have previous background material to draw upon, but it allows for greater character development.

Down side, you have to remain extra creative, otherwise you run the risk of churning out a devolved potboiler.

I really enjoy writing series.  I've written a couple of them and just started another one.  It gives you a chance to really develop characters, and really develop plot too.  But like Alex said.. you have to be careful and never cover the same ground twice. Oh and you have to make sure that each part of the series is a little story to itself so that it could stand alone without all the others for first time readers.  Just my 2 cents, and I say go for it.

Heh cool… at this point, though, I'm divided between writing a series or making a small game based on the concept… XP Gah.. I hate having learned programming!

Seems much more like a game orientated idea to me.
