    I'm not a big fan of Rodriguez, and his casting choice for Red Sonja is moronic.  I have a hard time deciding which is worse, Chun Li casting or Red Sonja.  Both are babes that have a little more meat on them.

    I think the whole movie is going to be moronic, Kristin as Chun Li was what immediately put me off from it.

    She doesn't have the physical presence to pull off Chun Li at all.

    I was thinking the same thing.  And then I saw the poster of Rose McGowan as Red Sonja, and I had a "facepalm moment."  Is this the new face of female power?  It's like we're going backwards.  Argh.

    I thought until recently we were moving forwards, but there still seems an unshakeable taboo in much of mainstream society surrounding female muscularity and physical strength – even Chun-Li, a fighting character, must not, apparently, look as though she is strong. ???

    Seeing that Red Sonja poster just about made me gag.

    That is horrible, and it is a pity that in 2009 that someone can visualize her as Red Sonja.  Aside from the fact that she is a horrible actress, and has no physical presence.

    Well… um… at least it looks like they got the costume right this time.

    But is everything that Rodriguez directs from now on going to look like Sin City?

    It really seems like, ever since the year 2000, Hollywood has had a zero tolerance policy on female muscle. My only hope now is Japanese Manga and Anime, where it seems to be cropping up more and more.

    Oh and for the record, Robert Rodriguez isn't directing Red Sonya, just producing it.

    Scarlett Johanson??? Nice looking gal. I like her look for a date or g/f, but no muscle. This is really sad as far as casting . Maybe Paris Hilton will be ready for 2011 with Nicole Ritchie.
